SCHOOL TRIP TO BARCELONA

Hello! Spring...that time of the year when everything gets colourful and we tend to be daydreaming all day long and devoted to our free time activities. However, don’t forget about your final tests and works to hand in! School is not already done. We hope you like this new newsletter. We have already started to work on the next and last newsletter for this school year. But for now...feel comfortable and enjoy!
Some of the students from 4ºESO visited Barcelona last March. We went to many places and had a great time, we didn’t want to come back!! They day we spent at Port Aventura was the best one for us. We hope to go to another trip next year. We would like to thank to our teachers Rocío Tamayo, David and Jesús for making this trip possible. We will never forget it :)

WOULD YOU LIKE TO LISTEN TO DIFFERENT MUSIC? People usually listen to the most popular songs and music, like those songs played on the radio all the time during a few months. But there’s a lot of music which is unkown by most of us, especially by teenagers. Only a few people like Gothic or heavy music. Have you ever listend to it? Let me talk you about it! Gothic music started in London, with bands as Bauhaus or The Cure. Into te gothic music find different styles: Gothic Rock, Darwave, New Wave, Death Rock or Post-Punk. A few gothic grups are Tristania, Unsun, Sirenia, Mantus and Leaves' eyes. The members of the Gothic subculture shared aesthetic tastes, music and culture. Some gothics meet in gothics festivals. Wave Gotik treffen is an annual world festival for "dark" music and arts in Leipzig, Germany. In this festival perform many gothics grups. The WGT regularly receives 25,000 attendees.
Heavy metal is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and in the United States. BLACK SABBATH were one of the first grups of Heavy metal. Some heavy groups are Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin or Pantera. Wacken Open Air is a summer open air heavy metal music festival. It takes place annually in the small village of Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany. With more than 70,000 visitors each year, attracts fans from almost every genre of metal. Finally, I would like to recommend you sosongs from these music genres. I hope you give them a try! TRIP TO CÁDIZ
OUR HOLY WEEK The Holy Week was celebrated from 25th to 31st March. In La Barca it was celebrated on Friday, despite the rainy weather we had. However, it didn’t have the same tour as it usually does. They people who are very fond of it felt very grateful. Here you can see a couple of pictures of how it was celebrated with many people gathered in the streets.
On 21st March, the groups of 1ºBach. went on a trip to Cádiz. We first walked along “La Alameda” and had breakfast in El Parque Genovés. Then we visited the Falla theatre and El Museo de las Cortes where we could see the scale model of Cádiz dated in 1777. Later, we visited the Guayasamin exhibition at the Castle of Santa Catalina. We had some free time for lunch. I think it was a fun trip!

THINKING ABOUT THE FUTURE
FLOODS NEARBY According to TVE at least three people have deade because of the floods in the South of Spain. The water levels of the Guadalcacín River rose dramatically and hundreds of people had to be evacuated. As a consequence, roads and railway lines had to be cut. We hope it won’t happen again next winter.

A FEW WORDS ON CINEMA
Because of the internet piracy and free downloads, the number of cinema goers is seriously decreasing. It would be very sad if we made it disappear. This is why I will give you some reasons for you to go to the cinema: -The sound and screen are better -The atmosphere is usually quieter -There are no interruptions -You can see newly released films -The environment makes you focus on the story and characters easily However, if you watch a movie at home: -You don’t have to move from home -You don’t have to pay the ticket -You can watch the movie in the room you like the most -You can speak or make noise So what do you think? I’m definitely in favour of going to the cinema!
Science fiction films are based on imaginary or science phenomena. The science used in this genre is usually known as pseudoscience. Until the 1950’s the gener consisted mainly on low-budget films.
