Market Share Welcome Kit 2011 GUIDE BOOK

WELCOME to GO LOCAL MARKETS Welcome to the Go Local Farmer’s Market. Barrington’s Saturday Markets bring the best of local eating right to your fingertips. Our philosophy is not only to bring you access to the best quality produce in the area, but to create strength through our local networks, and get you up to date news about each week’s offerings, special events or tips on how eating local can be easier than you think!

ABOUT OUR MARKETS Go Local Farmer’s Market, doesn’t just offer the best quality produce in our area, but artisanal products as well. Not only will you be able to get your vegetables, fruits and breads, but you can pick up handmade soaps, sauces, treats and gifts making this a one stop shop for your weekend shopping.

SOCIAL NETWORKING and THE MARKETS Part of our philosophy includes keeping in touch with each of you during the week, instead of only conversing at the Market on Saturday mornings. Social networking, and specifically our use of Facebook makes our conversation extend much further than the traditional modes you might find. On facebook you will find an in-depth view of our weekly produce, and what is in season or at it’s peak during that week. For our facebook fans we will have facebook only specials, as well as a place to have a conversation and connect with your fellow Barringtonites who are interested in the local movement. This might include sharing your recipes, posting photos, or letting us know about your special event or sports game that might need some local treats!

WHAT ELSE WE OFFER I know what you are thinking... what else is there to offer besides the markets, coupons, welcome kits, social networking? Community strength in supporting our local farmer’s and artisans goes beyond just buying their products and produce. We work with local chefs and restaurants to provide fun community dinners. Each season we provide around three community dinners where one local restaurant uses all of the produce and products and provides everyone with a feast. These special events are a great place to meet face to face with those you have connected with online or bring a new family to the locavore movement.

NOW THAT YOU HAVE JOINED US: We appreciate your commitment to our Go Local Farmer’s Markets and being apart of our market share. With each season you will get a sampling of each of the artisanal products, as well as a weekly batch of fresh produce. In the following pages you will find a chart of the vegetables and fruit that we offer. The chart is an approximate time that you will be able to expect that product to be in your market share box. Each week you can stop by to grab your box with our weekly recipe card and coupons for the rest of the market. Enjoy!
