ATHLETICS & RECREATION REFERENDUM The University has recently agreed to commit $10 million to the capital costs of the proposed Student Activity Building (SAB), which would lower the proposed SAB fee to $2.99/unit to a maximum of $89.70 for 30 units (down from $3.95/unit to a maximum of $118.50/unit for 30 units). In light of this, the SRA discussed and voted in favour of sending the Athletics & Recreation Pulse Expansion and Student Activity Building back to referendum in March. To read the memo from the VP Finance, and as well as the letter from the McMaster University Provost, please visit msumcmaster.ca/sradocs. MUSLIM BAN STATEMENT In light of the recent attempt by the United States government to issue a travel ban targeting countries with large Muslim populations, the Assembly voted in favour of adopting the official stance that the McMaster Students Union stands in solidarity with Muslim identifying students on campus.

DISCUSSION REGARDING SRA ENDORSEMENTS OF ELECTION CANDIDATES The SRA discussed the merits and disadvantages of Assembly members endorsing SRA candidates in the upcoming SRA Generals election. It was discussed that although endorsing a candidate could discourage others from running, an endorsement is also a testament to an individual’s capability in the role. The SRA did not make any ruling to restrict endorsements for SRA candidates by Assembly members.
