Participatory Budgeting Have your say in the next big change at Mac! Beginning January 19th, students will voting will be open to determine how the $686 000 available through the Student Life Enhancement Fund will be spent. For more info, visit enhance.mcmaster.ca.

McMaster Ice Rink Problems with obtaining insurance have delayed building of the McMaster Ice Rink. Expect to see this cool feature on campus by November 2015.

More Welcome Week Funding For Programming In the coming year, a greater portion of the Orientation Levy will be allocated to programming. Incoming students will now only receive faculty and residence/SOCS t-shirts, and no other swag, allowing more funds for expanded programming.

Health Plan & MSU Constitution Referenda Potential changes to the MSU Health Plan and Constitution will be going to referendum! Students will have the chance to decide between two options regarding expanded health care coverage in addition to the ability to increase the size of the SRA to include more academic divisions. Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance Lobby Week As a part of the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance’s (OUSA’s) Lobby Week, both the MSU’s VP Education and President spent a week advocating advocating to the province to improve our experience as students. Increasing work integrated learning and co-op, allocating more money to needs based financial aid, and improving mental health support were key areas of focus.

Mental Health Improvements Ahead A full launch of the University’s Mental Health Strategy is scheduled for February, so stay on the lookout for exciting imporvments to student mental health services.

MSU Award Nominations Are Open Do you know a specific person or club, on campus that had made a significant them for an MSU award. Find more details here.

End of Year Celebration Following extensive consultation with students, the topic of an end of year celebration will be brought back to the SRA in a revised format on January 25th. Come out to the meeting and join the discussion!

Mac Hosts OUSA General Assembly The Spring General Assembly f o r t h e Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA) will be held at McMaster, from March 19th - 22nd. This semi-annual event helps set the provincial advocacy priorities for over 140, 000 undergraduate students across Ontario. Stay posted for ways to get involved and share your thoughts!

GET INVOLVED MSU Presidentals & Referenda 2015 The 2015 Presidentals and Referenda officially start on January 18th and will run for two weeks. Voting is entirely online, via your McMaster email, and more information can be found at msumcmaster.ca/elections, /presidentials, and /referenda.
