KEY DISCUSSION POINTS Engineers Without Borders (EWB) This week the EWB presented to the SRA. EWB is a multinational group that operates with the aim of ending extreme poverty by introducing systemic change. The McMaster chapter recieves 37 cents from every student, which exclusively funds one Junior Fellow: an extensive volunteer position that involves a four month placement abroad, working to create change. Incite Magazine Incite is a entirely student run and operated magazine. It features essays, fiction, poetry, art, and a variety of other content. The magazine recieves 96 cents from every student to produce six issues every year. Every student is eligible to contribute to Incite, and they are constantly looking to expand their engagement within the McMaster community. To get involved, contact them here.

INFORMATION PERIOD An Update on Exam Upgrades MSU President Teddy Saull has made recent progress on his platform point to improve the services offered to students during exams. The Pulse will maintain regular hours for the majority of exam period. Thode will be open for 24 hours in the three days leading up to exams, and its cafeteria will be open later on weekdays as well as on weekends.

Ontario Undergradute Student Alliance General Assembly At OUSA’s Fall General Assembly, McMaster’s delegation actively contributed to policy aimed at improving mental health resources on campus, the ease of transfer between post-secondary institutions, and the availability of nutritious food options on campus, among other important items. These policies are tools used to create change through lobbying the Provincial government.

Elections 101, November 20th Are you considering running for MSU President, the SRA, or are just plain interested in what elections look like within the MSU? Elections 101 is an event designed to give everyone a crash course in the process, and to provide a venue for you to have all your questions answered. More information is available here.

Accessibility Forum, November 27th Diversity Services and the University Affairs Committee are collaborating to host McMaster’s first annual Accessibility Forum. Come out to discuss issues concerning accessibility on campus. The group will also try to generate creative solutions to these problems. more details can be found here.

‘Starry Night’ - MSU First Year Formal, November 28th Join the MSU Maroons, First Year Council, and the Student Community Support Network for the inaugural first year formal. This event aims to connect first year students with student leaders in the McMaster community, at a cost of $20. More information on how you can participate is located here.

SWHAT Walk-A-thon, November All November long, SWHAT will be hosting their annual Walk-A-Thon. For every walk home they provide, money will be donated to support men’s health and mental health through Movember. The goal is to have 200 walk’s in the month, so call 905-525-9140 ext. 27500 to get a walk home and contribute to a great cause. SWHAT is open every day of the week, with hours between 7 PM - 1 AM on Sunday through Wednesday, and between 7 PM - 2 AM on Thursday through Saturday.
