KEY DISCUSSION POINTS External Affairs Committee The External Affairs Committee is planning to update and reformat a number of policies, including Tuition, Sustainability, and Social and Environmental Purchasing. These documents outline the MSU’s stance on specific topics, and can be used to advocate for positive change within McMaster.

University Affairs Committee The University Affairs (UA) Committee, in conjunction with Diversity Services, hosted the first Accessibility Forum on November 27th. the event was aprovided an avenue for students and University staff to constructively discuss barriers on campus and potential solutions for the future. The UA committee is also making exciting progress on a winter Mental Health Awareness Week, introducing nutritional information to the TwelvEighty menu, and improving the course wiki.

Vice President (Administration) Jacob Brodka, our VP (Administration), gave a series of updates. Highlights include that two potential spaces have been identified for use by the Women & Gender Equity Network (WGEN) and that text based peer support will be rolled out for the Peer Support Line (PSL) in January. More information about WGEN and it’s strategic roll-out plan between the MSU and the University can found here.

Healthcare Referendum The SRA approved bringing potential changes to the healthcare coverage to referendum. Options include adding partial coverage for eye exams, paramedical services, and prescription contraceptives. More information on the referendum can be found here, and voting will occur during presidential elections in January.

media and abroad, at 6:00 pm in TwelvEighty. This will also be another opportunity to learn more about running in MSU Elections! More information is available here.

WGEN - A Dialogue: Feminist Community Praxis, December 2nd WGEN is a brand new service! Join them at their first networking event at 8:00 pm in Bridges Cafe to help promote collaboration and dialogue when creating programming related to women and gender. Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided. More information is available here.

GET INVOLVED PTM Hiring Interested in a service? Applications for part-time managers (PTMs) are now open. PTMs are responsible for the operations of many of the MSU’s delivery 35+ services to enhance student life. Closing date for submissions is January 11th. You can view the available positions here.

McMaster Student Leadership Conference Start the year off by going to the McMaster Student Leadership Conference on January 10th. The conference hopes to inspire future student leaders and provide them with the skills to make change. Register on OscarPlus here.
