coaches david williams head coach 6th Season Alma Mater: Kentucky (1992) David Williams is in his sixth year as the head softball coach at Morehead State. The Greensboro, N.C., native, has guided the Eagles to OVC Tournament appearances in each of the past four seasons. With an 8-5 victory over Drexel on March 8, 2013, Williams eclipsed the 200 career victory mark and he is 282-278-1 in 11 seasons overall. In 2016, Williams led Morehead State to a 26-27 record and a 12-12 OVC mark. They downed Tennessee Tech in the OVC Tournament, 2-1, to claim their first tournament win since 2009. Sophomore Robyn Leighton was named to the All-OVC Second Team, while freshman Allison Rager was named to the All-OVC Newcomer Team. Leighton was twice named OVC Player of the Week, while Rager earned OVC Pitcher of the Week honors after throwing back-to-back shutouts. Morehead State's softball program registered a 3.51 grade point average and earned the OVC Team Academic Award in 2015-16. Sixteen softball student-athletes were named to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll. In 2015, Williams led Morehead State to a 22-24 overall record and an 11-11 OVC mark. Freshman Mackenzie Grossman was twice named OVC Pitcher of the Week and OVC Newcomer of the Week. Senior Tanna Seuferer was also named Pitcher of the Week. In 2013, Williams led Morehead State to a 24-25 overall record and 10-14 mark in OVC play. The 2013 edition finished the season with a .311 batting average, which ranked 22nd in the nation. Six times under the direction of Williams, a player has received All-OVC honors.

erika stratton assistant coach 3rd Season

Alma Mater: Bowling Green (2014)

Erika Stratton is in her third season as an assistant softball coach after spending the 2015 campaign as the program's volunteeer assistant. Stratton is involved with a variety of duties, including recruiting and scouting. She continues to coach the catchers and assist with the pitchers. Stratton helped Morehead State to its third consecutive Ohio Valley Conference Tournament appearance in 2015. The Eagles finished 22-24 overall, 11-11 in league play and 10-6 at home. In 2016, she helped lead Morehead State to a 26-27 record and a 12-12 OVC mark. They downed Tennessee Tech in the OVC Tournament, 2-1, to claim their first tournament win since 2009.

Alma Mater: Bowling Green (2014)

Alexa Alfaro is in her first season as an assistant softball coach. Prior to MSU, Alfaro served as the head coach for the 18u Bartlett Silver Hawks softball organization. With the Silver Hawks, she tutored her players in the college recruiting process.
