How to vote in the USI Fees Preferendum

This guide is intended for all students except students in UCC, Waterford IT & IT Blanchardstown. If you are a student in one of these institutions, please see the separate guide on page 3 of this document.

Step 1:

Visit www.usi.ie and examine the various choices that are available in the preferendum.

When you have decided how you wish to vote, click on the Vote Now button in the left hand menu.

Step 2:

Choose your college from the drop down menu.

Step 3:

Depending on your college you may need to select it again from the second drop down list. If you are presented with this screen, select your college and click select.

Step 4:

You will now be redirected to your college’s website. Please enter your college username and password (they same username and password you use to login to computers on campus).

You may also be asked to accept the terms and conditions and that approve USI verifying that you are a student. After this step you will have verified that you are a student and your college’s website will pass you back to the voting site.

Step 5:

Click on the ‘Fees Preferendum’ link and you will be brought to the ballot paper. You can select a preference from 1-6 for each option but may only allocate each preference once.

When you are finished click cast vote. Please note you do not have to allocate a preference to each option e.g. you may only wish to allocate your 1st preference.

Don’t forget to log out by selecting the log out button from the menu on the left.

Student from Waterford IT, UCC and IT Blanchardstown Step 1:

Enter your college email address in the format specified.

Step 4:

Log into your college email account and click on the link that has been sent to you by the voting server.

Step 5:

Click on the ‘Fees Preferendum’ link and you will be brought to the ballot paper. You can select a preference from 1-6 for each option but may only allocate each preference once.

When you are finished click cast vote. Please note you do not have to allocate a preference to each option e.g. you may only wish to allocate your 1st preference.
