Keep in Touch

This Friday marks the 5th annual Metro Universities Relay For Life. This is an incredible event that brings university students together for a 12-hour overnight event to celebrate, honour, and remember those who are battling or have lost their battle with cancer. The Students’ Union has a team for anyone who does not have a team of their own, and I promise we are a lot of fun! If you want to join our team, register before Friday by searching our team, “MSVUSU GM”. If you don’t have a credit card to pay the $10 registration fee, visit the Union and we’ll figure out a way to sign you up! We’re also trying something new this year to show our appreciation for our soon-to-be-graduates. Additional to the summer grad event during convocation, the Students’ Union is throwing a pub event on March 27th, specifically for graduating students! This is a 19+ pub event, and is a great way to celebrate all the hard work that you’ve done during your time here at the Mount. The Students’ Union wants to know what YOU want to see changed at the Mount. We’re great advocates for students, communicate with administration on a regular basis, and are part of the University budgeting process. Let us know what you think could make this campus great, no matter how big or small your idea is. Tweet us your suggestions at @MSVUSU #SkyIsTheLimit, message us on Facebook, email me, or just stop by and have a chat! We want to hear from YOU! Later days!

STUDENTS’ UNION UPDATES Important Themes in March 2014 (Continued) Keep Life Beautiful Campaign The end of February will mark the beginning of a brand new campaign on campus! Sometimes, especially as students, we forget to take in the natural beauty of life. During the hustle and bustle of everyday activities, its nice to be reminded of how beautiful life really is and how lucky we are to be alive. We must remember, however, that this is a precious thing and that there are others in the world who do not have the freedom to enjoy it as freely as we do. That is why during the end of February all the way to the end of term, we will be promoting awareness on life. Sustaining our lives and keeping it beautiful is only one part, but helping others receive the same benefits is another story. By working alongside the Free the Children Society on campus, and correlating with World Water Month and Nutrition Awareness Week, we hope to bring huge awareness to the most precious thing on earth, Life. To become involved in this campaign, contact Justin at vpadvocacy@mountstudents.ca.
