A 4-membered family villa in hot climate Antalya. Focused on construction materials and layers acceptable for climate.

The villa in Antalya designed with its insulation layers, interior, solid and landscape together. The three-floored building has a linear design with pull-outs at upper floor. It contains basic family house interiors like living room, 3 bedrooms for parents and 2 kids, hobby room, cellar... etc. Contrast between wood and ceramic used in extreior facades. Ribbon windows emphasizes the horizontality.

LI N E BY LI N E DETAILS Besides the layers of main building elements, the stairs designed for the first time in my projects. The natural stone covering stairs has impact absorber which is important for blocking the ascending sound.
LAYERS The building located in Antalya,Turkey where one of the hottest climate conditions exists. So the building have to be resistant for extreme hot weathers. For the warm-cold winter, thin heat insulations and large openings enough but the important thing is the hot summer seaons. Vapor barriers, ceramic facade coverings and air spaces in walls can help for humid conditions acceptable. Also body of the walls are verical hollow bricks which is lightweight and also insulates the sounds. For every interior area, different floorings used for its function and whether its touch with earth or not. Designing all different flooring layers with same level is important and solved by balanced with screed.

LIGHT SHELVES The bioclimatic strategy used which is the most important one is using the light shelves both indoor and outdoor. The indoor light shelves reflecting the both winter and summer sunlight through the down floor so there is no any light source and energy to brighten the underground needed. STACK EFFECT One of the bioclimatic strategies used is the stack effect. It helps the taking out the o overheated air from the building. Heated air always elevating, so opening some windows at the North facade roof can make this situation happen. Also the window can be opened or closed according to weather. SUN SPACE Sun space is a bioclimatic strategy used which is thing that doesn’t want in hot climates. Sun’s short wavecan through glass but long wave infrared rays from ground can’t pass through the glass and heating the indoor with this energy. The large south roof opening and glass entrance hall make this passing. It is very useful to passive heating but it should be prevented for passive cooling in summer.

FUNCTION Art eco gallery is an art gallery on a hillside in Erzurum, Turkey. It has a glass entrance area before entering the main building (protecting the heat), two big main halls at up and down floors to exhibiton art pieces , a cafe at the upper floor with its sitting area terrace and a green area to enrich the outer spaces.

EARTH COOLING & HEATING Because of the slope, there is an underground floor which includes exhibiton,wc and storage. The floor doesn’t have a directly connection between theoutside weather and earth also. So inthis area climate doesn’t work insidevery well and protected by the extreme cold or overheat.

Double-shelled and triangular surfaced research center located at Poles. Focused on insulations againts extreme cold climate.

POLAR RESEARCH CENTER The Contrast, is a RESEARCH CENTER which researching the environment of the Pole and living things. The edgy, triangular surfaced structure has double shell, the black outer shell and red inner shell -which is seen on the entrance of the structure- showing off the structure at the white snowy environment easily because of non sutured surfaces. Also, the dark colored shells absorp the light for heating the indoors. The three big triangle glasses at the south side, shows the glacial seas by the polar climate. N

(2018) The main concept is using the intersection of the different angled arcs to make areas for sleeping and climbing. It is inspired by the old pipes’ shapes and the tree which has grown under the gravel
The sleeping pod and multifunctional structure, “Arclines” located at the corner, near the architecture faculty of Istanbul Bilgi University. It connects the old pipes which are in a pool of gravel with different heighted lines on the buildings wall.
