N ATI O N A L FLOWE RS TO U R A diverse collection of flowers are official symbols and representations of the states and territories across the nation. In addition to being beautiful, these botanic symbols reveal a powerful conservation message. Most (81%) of the designated flowers are native to the places they represent. Mt. Cuba Center is home to state flowers, state wildflowers, or state herbs representing 26 states. We house a high representation of the national flowers because we focus on native species and our location in Delaware sits at a unique vegetation mixing zone between northern and southern flora. Use this chart to tour the flower symbols. Optimal bloom periods vary among the species, providing something special to see during each season.
