First part is about to use 3 different but have the same prototype living units to aggregate into a housing. In the second part, we disconstruct the units finished in the first part into many different ''modular'',and try to use these ''modulars'' to develope a different type of architecture.

In the first part,we try many different way to study different aggregation from units include a puzzle cube consist of 2 to 3 types of pieces that lock together,a loop that 30 center meter high also cosist of 2 to 3 pieces,3 types of units(S,M,L) to form different corner. And use all of these works to develop the living units and the housing. In the beginning of the housing units , I start to studying the geometry. After it, I found that octagon is different form the other geometry, however octagons compose ,they will leave a void .So I start to do different combination of octagon. I'm interesting in the void of it's aggregation. Cause when we talk about the void in architecture ,it means a outdoor place that people where can interact, and also a chance that light can get in. So what I want to do is to make maxium light get into my house unit. So I start to cut the geometry and turn it’s section into curve. Cause a curve on can let light spread out indoors. I set my housing units as a forest research station. Relative to a normal box house, my unit is easy to put into a forest but not to cause damage. And due to its’ form, it can let trees grow along it.

In these two versions, I use it's 2D property to do different units. In the first version, I took 1, 2 and 3 octagons to put together to make it into S, M and L sizes. I dissconstructed them, adjusted its' edges, and then reorgnized them in steps 2, 3 and 4. In the end, I did some variety to its' facad. In the second version, I scales octagons, put them into different layers and lofted them. And also did some variety to its' facade.

After 2D study,I started to do it in 3D. I used different SECTION but same PLAN in octagon to define the geometry and tried to stack them together. I found that only the geometry that both plan & section are octagon has the property of octagon itself even in 3D. So I choose it as the prototype of my house units. In this version, I used this geometry to do the units, and it can aggregate into two different way. I used the verb "melt" to define it when different units compose together.

Its' structure is aluminum frame with FRP panel. So it would be light enough to be transpor ted into any forest. When it send to somewhere, it can also be assembled easily. So it will not spend too much human resources. Its' floors are suspension floors, so whatever the terrain is, it can adjust to horizontal. It can also easy to change its' floors depending on the use of different load. So this structure system is quite suitable for forests research stations.

These are plans of S, M and L housing units. Each unit has different functions. S unit is just for housing. M unit and L units can change its' fuction for different uses. M unit can be a kitchen, a small laboratory or a lounge. L unit can be a big laboratory, a meeting room or a office for scientists.
L
Different units can compose together to turn into different use. When several S units compose together, it trun tnto a housing cluster. When S and M units compoese, it turn tinto a laboratory. S and L units compose, it trun into a bigger laboratory.

In the type 2,cause my prototype of the housing units is a geometry mirror to .So I'm thinking that my type 2 can be deconstructed it into equal parts, and reconstruct it. So it can have not only a way to use. First I studying in 2D,and then do the 3D one. After these I choose 2 kinds of it's outcome to make it as a pavilion and a ice house. And these are the render of the pavilion one.

In this project, two students as a team to do research and develop a topic of the site they chose. After this, they have to design for this topic and site by each other. At the beginning, our team were interesting in the topic “ruins in cities. We found some sites like Taipei Railway Workshop, South Airport Public Housing, Jianguo Brewery and some old cinema in Taipei. And then we found that the interface of architectures is interesting so we kept going on this. In the end, we chose Taipei Fine Arts Museum as our site. The Taipei Fine Arts Museum is a museum in Zhongshan District, Taipei, Taiwan. It is in the Taipei Expo Park. The museum first opened on August 8, 1983, at the former site of the United States Taiwan Defense Command. It was the first museum in Taiwan built for contemporary art exhibitions. The architecture is a local adaption of the Japanese Metabolist Movement. From 1984 until 1990, the Taipei Fine Ar ts Museum's most prestigious event was the "Trends of Modern Art in the R.O.C.". This was a biennial exhibition which promoted Chinese modernity in art and mostly invited artists with a R.O.C. passport or equivalent ancestry. This national, competition style, exhibition was replaced in 1992 by the Taipei Biennial and the Taipei Prize.

By opening museums to attract more people to it, I think it's just like a director of the film, how he get through the lens to attract more people to look at his movies. So, in the first I studied in camera work. Camera work include view, camera shot, camera angel and how it works. I used these studies to decide how to design the interface. It includes to decide how to watch, who is watching and who is being watched, sizes of lens, depth and angle of cameras and the iterface is visual or invisble.

I started to study in viewers in museums. I found that there are 3 different kinds of viewers in museum, the viewers, the viewers inside and the viewers outside."The viewers" are those who are focus on artworks. "Viewers inside" are those who are watching others in museums. And "viewer s outside" is those who want ot enter museums and watch people inside museums through windows. I also do some studies that through "camera shot", what will it look like in these 3 different kinds of viewers in museums. What I wanted to do is to through the facade of the intervention, so that the museum from outside to inside, the relationship between the viewer and the viewer has been in the conversion. And then outside, will lead to the internal; in the internal, will lead to the next place.

This project requires a plaza that it's building coverage ratio must be less than 25%, a market space includes 4 guest elevators and 1 freight elevator with 110 stalls in 2 different sizes (6 m2 and 8 m2) and a cold storage space in 250 m2, a control center of the market and an underground pa r k i n g g a r a g e c o n t a i n s 8 0 c a r s a n d 1 1 0 motorcycles. At the first, I studied about the different between two types about traditional Taiwanese markets, markets along streets and markets gather together, and Chengkung market is the second ones. I found that when the first ones in operation, it will take over streets. When it in rest, streets back to its original function. The markets gather together even if when they are in operation, they have a place there own, but when they are in rest, the place become useless. I wanted to avoid these useless places. So what I wanted to do is to create a market that 24-7.

This project is about to build a religious place in Tamsui include religion space and a residential activity center. Students have to choose a religious belief as a topic and do studies about it. After studies, students have to make it as the basis of design. The religion I chose is Taoism. Taoism is a religious or philosophical tradition of Chinese origin which emphasizes living in harmony with the Tao. The Tao is a fundamental idea in most Chinese philosophical schools; in Taoism, however, it denotes the principle that is the source, pattern and substance of everything that exists. Taoism differs from Confucianism by not emphasizing rigid rituals and social order. Taoist ethics vary depending on the particular school, but in general tend to emphasize "wu wei", "naturalness", simplicity, spontaneity, and the Three Treasures: "compassion", "frugality", and "humility". Taoism has had a profound influence on Chinese culture in the course of the centuries, and Taoists, a title traditionally attributed only to the clergy and not to their lay followers, usually take care to note distinction between their ritual tradition and the practices of Chinese folk religion and nonTaoist vernacular ritual orders, which are often mistakenly identified as pertaining to Taoism. Chinese alchemy, Chinese astrology, Chan (Zen) Buddhism, several martial arts, traditional Chinese medicine, feng shui, and many styles of qigong have been intertwined with Taoism throughout history.
