Testimonials 40 Under 40 – Houston Business Journal, 2014 It was difficult for the long-term board members to accept such a young new member, but eventually, they did. His intense dedication, hard work, intelligence, love of city history and architecture, as well as his gentle and gracious manner was invaluable to the board and are no doubt, vital to his work today. It is a testament to the young that he has served Houston so well in such a short time. – Executive Director, Non-Profit in Houston Alex is compassionate, creative, persistent, passionate and grounded. He knows exactly what is important and fair and strives to make things happen the right way. He played a pivotal role in convincing the university administration to re-establish the Urban Studies Department, and was named the Outstanding Student in Urban Studies his senior year. That was just the beginning of his achievements. Knowing this young man would do great things I have made a point to stay in touch with Alex throughout the years and we have become friends. Of all my students he impresses me most in his genuine passion for service and to make things happen the right way. Alex is able to view problems from multiple perspectives and work toward favorable solutions for all stakeholders. – Trinity University Professor You may find it amusing to note that I had to ask him if he truly was “under 40” as from my vantage point, his maturity and community-mindedness far exceeds his age. – Executive Director, Non-Profit in Houston
