We’ve completed almost $1 billion in construction recently on our beautiful 500-acre campus at MTSU, including the $147 million Science Corridor of Innovation featuring our 250,000-square-foot Science Building. A $39.6 million Behavioral and Health Sciences building opened in 2020, and we’ll soon add new concrete/construction management and engineering facilities. An ever-expanding city of 135,000, Murfreesboro ranks among the nation’s 15 fastest-growing large cities and is part of the booming Nashville metro area. If you’re out of state, MTSU can still be an affordable option. We are a comfortable driving distance from several areas in the Southeast, and many MTSU majors are ranked among the truly best programs in the nation.

In-State Tuition for Unique Majors You could qualify for in-state tuition at MTSU for certain programs not available in your home state, through the Academic Common Market (ACM). Aerospace, animation, horse science, concrete industry management, and mechatronics engineering are among eligible offerings for students from several states, along with audio production, music industry, recording industry, and more. Reduced Rate for Out-of-State You may be eligible for a major tuition discount through the Regional Scholars Program if you aren’t pursuing an Academic Common Market (ACM)-approved degree (see above). mtsu.edu/regionalscholars • Graduate from a high school located in the 8 states touching Tennessee or in a county within a 250-mile radius of MTSU • Be admitted with an ACT composite of 25 (SAT 1200) or greater • Attend full time—at least 12 hours • Apply for the ACM program if available
