If you’re out of state, MTSU can still be an affordable option. We are a comfortable driving distance from several areas in the Southeast, and many MTSU majors are ranked among the truly best programs in the nation.

In-State Tuition for Unique Majors

You could qualify for in-state tuition at MTSU for certain programs not available in your home state, through the Academic Common Market (ACM). Aerospace, Animation, Horse Science, Concrete Industry Management, and Mechatronics Engineering are among eligible offerings for students from several states, along with audio production, music industry, recording industry, and more. Reduced Rate for Out-of-State

You may be eligible for a major tuition discount through the Regional Scholars Program if you aren’t pursuing an Academic Common Market (ACM)-approved degree (see above) mtsu.edu/regionalscholars

• Graduate from a high school located in the 8 states touching Tennessee or in a county within a 250-mile radius of MTSU

• Be admitted with an ACT composite of 25 (SAT 1200) or greater

• Attend full time—at least 12 hours

• Apply for the ACM program if available

First-Time Freshmen Complete college preparatory courses and have ONE of the following:

• 3.0+ GPA or

• ACT composite score of 22+ (SAT 1100+) or

• 2.7+ GPA and ACT score of 19+ (SAT 990+)

Admission by Holistic Review

• If you don’t meet guaranteed admission, complete the additional personal statement questions on the application.

• Your academic performance, standardized test scores, special interests and skills, and other nonacademic factors will be considered
