Brotherhood

Welcome FAITH • SCHOLARSHIP • COMMUNITY

Brotherhood.

At Marquette University High School, we see connections between our students that last a lifetime. Through retreats, activities, service and faith formation, each cohort of students become brothers through their four years.

As a college-prep school, you can find strong academic programs and cocurriculars here. In addition, our unique Jesuit all-boys Catholic environment creates a space where students connect, bond, thrive, and truly build a brotherhood.

A Marquette High education creates a lifelong network of faith, community and support for all our alumni and their families.

We invite you on this journey to learn more about the rich tradition at Marquette University High School – and consider joining the brotherhood.

God’s blessings,

Rev. Michael J. Marco, S.J., President

Set sail with MUHS! Last year, the MUHS Sailing Team made it to the Great Lakes Championship Regatta in Chicago, and competed against the top 21 schools in the Midwest.

The Food Fair is a tasty cultural event at MUHS. Meals are enjoyed together from Asian Culture Club, Celtic Club, Brothers of Culture, German Club, Polish Club, Muslim Student Association, Orgullo Latino Homeroom, Jewish fare, Native American treats and a Filipino feast.

Model United Nations Club enables students to explore current and historic global issues, through their participation in conferences that simulate the activities carried out by the United Nations while allowing students to develop strong research, writing, and interpersonal skills that can benefit them in all areas of their lives.

The Powerlifting team trains to compete in benchpress, squat, and deadlift. Last year, the Hilltopper Powerlifting team consisted of 31 lifters representing every grade level, with five state competition qualifiers.

Connected By

The Jesuit education is worth every penny in our opinion. We have valued every day at MUHS. The retreats, the daily examen, the teachers and staff that truly care about our son.

-Beth Von Rueden, New Berlin

MUHS allowed both our sons to pursue and exemplify what makes them unique, what drives them, where they find joy.

-William Ledger, Germantown

I can’t say enough about all the fabulous experiences my son had in his four years that continually reinforced “being a man for others.”

-Molly Bell, Wauwatosa

The academics and preparation for college is rigorous but really prepares the men for that next step.

-Kelly Kling, Milwaukee

Marquette High knows and works with each student as an individual and helps them to grow into their best self. It is never one size fits all.

-Jason Wermers, Mequon

Haber sido parte de la comunidad de Marquette High School por la última década ha sido un privilegio, y cada una de las experiencias vividas allí quedarán grabadas en nuestros recuerdos para siempre.

The Arts

We believe the arts are essential to a well-rounded education. In fact, Marquette High alumni have included musicians, artists, actors, directors, conductors, composers, a Tony winner, an Oscar winner, Grammy winners, and even a latenight talk show host.

No matter what your background, MUHS Fine Arts offers a range of courses and extracurricular activities to foster creativity, critical thinking and self-expression.

Our graduates are prepared to make a positive impact in their communities, using their gifts and talents to contribute to a more just and compassionate world.

Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math

We fuel students’ curiosity no matter what area most interests them in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Hands-on field trips measuring river water quality is just one of the many opportunities that fuel students’ passion for STEM fields. Expert faculty include teachers like awardwinning science teacher Mr. Joe Meyer, who has experience teaching in national parks.

Along with AP math courses, the school’s Math Club competes in events throughout the year, and last year finished in the top 10 nationally after earning first place in Wisconsin in the Catholic Math League.

In addition, our Science Olympiad team has won four consecutive state championships and achieved major success on the national stage. Hilltopper Robotics team designs, builds, and competes with robots, honing skills in programming, engineering, and problem-solving.

• Advanced labs: Modern facilities for science and technology

• Hands-on experiences: Coding, robotics and design

• Mentorship: Partnerships with local professionals and sponsors

• Competitions: Science Olympiad, Robotics, Math Team and more

Championship Excellence

Our coaches and student-athletes are dedicated to pushing themselves to be their best, both on and off the field. And it shows!

In a historic achievement, our football and basketball teams won state championships in the same school year, a first for any Division 1 school in WIAA history.

Overall, Hilltopper athletics achieved nine team sectional titles and seven state team and individual championships in the 20232024 school year.

The Hilltopper ethic goes deep – and focuses on developing the whole person. That’s evident in 65% of students

participating in a sport, providing ample opportunities for fostering connection. At least one non-cut sport is offered in each sport season and two freshman teams are fielded in multiple sports.

Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just starting out, you’ll find a supportive and competitive environment at Marquette University High School. Our programs foster a culture of leadership, sportsmanship, and school spirit, helping our students develop valuable skills that extend far beyond their playing days. Roll Top!

Congratulations Hilltoppers

The Hilltoppers are current reigning state champions in football, basketball, doubles tennis, rugby, and wheelchair track!

Faith: The Foundation For Growth

Faith is more than theology classes – it’s the foundation for our entire community. We believe a strong compass is essential for shaping young men into well-rounded leaders.

Each day starts with student-led prayer, fostering a sense of brotherhood and shared purpose. The Ignatian Examen, a reflective prayer encouraged by our Jesuit founders, becomes a daily habit, guiding students toward self-awareness and growth.

Regular Liturgies and service opportunities solidify the connection between faith and action.

Marquette High’s Campus Ministry offers a wealth of programs to nurture each young man’s faith journey, from all faith backgrounds:

• Retreats that provide opportunities for reflection and connection

• Immersion trips that put faith into action from Milwaukee to the Dominican Republic

• 130 service hours completed by each student over four years

• 75% of the student body is Catholic, and all students are able to grow in their faith through four years of Theology classes

MUHS isn’t just about preparing students for college; it’s about preparing them for life. Young men discover their strengths, explore their values, and graduate with a foundation that will guide them long after they leave our halls.
