Message from the Social Committee

To The Social Committee...

Thank you, brothers, for an excellent fraternal year. The goal of the Social Committee this year was a return to normalcy, an endeavor that was executed in excellence. With the spread of a global pandemic, opportunities to mix, mingle and meet were brought to a screeching halt. As the District began to slowly open up, we successfully held numerous in-person events for Brothers, community members, and the public at large to enjoy. Beginning with our Bomb Fire Brotherhood Smoke to our Founders Day Card Party and even a Happy Hour to celebrate the coming of Spring as well as welcome our new Brothers to the House of Alpha. The brothers of the Social Committee were even instrumental in planning and executing the program for the Alpha Phi Alpha Way Street naming with a reception spearheaded by the Hospitality Committee. I would like to take the time to extend gratitude for your efforts and flexibility in getting it done! To Brothers: Joseph Housey III, Jeremy Triplett, Anthony Covington Sr., and Justice Brown-Duso; thank you for extending the hand a brotherhood through your contributions of time, money, dialogue, and sweat equity that made it all possible. You are truly world-class brothers

The program ended with remarks from Ward 5 ANC representatives and Councilman Keyan McDuffie. A Reception was held in the Mu Lambda Community House to cap off the event of the day. Special thanks to Bro. Everett Lott and the Alpha Phi Alpha Way committee Bros. Autin Cooper Jr., Gibert Douglass, Rylan Harris, Rudes McGann, Eddie Neal, and Byron L.
