The President’s Message

Greetings Brothers,

On October 1, 2021 we celebrated the 98th anniversary of the chartering of the Mu Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc in Washington DC. Our beloved Mu Lambda chapter was charted as the eleventh house of Alpha on October 1, 1923. And I thank our 22 charter members, which includes Jewel Nathaniel Allision Murray and Jewel Robert Harold Ogle, for coming together at the Beta Chapter House and making Mu Lambda a reality. It was during these Crowning Years of our dear fraternity that Mu Lambda established itself as a chapter of leadership within our fraternity and a humble servant dedicated to addressing the needs of our Washington DC community.

In the beginnings of this current fraternal year we are well on our way to having another successful year of leadership within Alpha Phi Alpha, Brothers donating their treasure and time serving the communities of Washington DC, re-establishing and establishing new collaborative relationships with community based service organizations such as the NAACP and member chapters of the DCNPHC. We are also continuing to see the continued upward trend of reclamation of Brothers back to the Chapter and of Brothers who are new to the Washington DC Area or some who have been in the area for a while looking for their next Alpha home. This is a testament to what we are doing and your personal investment to bring Brothers back into the fold which is commendable.

Again thank you Brothers and have a positive and progressive day, month and year.

Fraternally

Brother John “Tony” Wilson, President Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Mu Lambda Chapter
