Five Things to Look Out For When Applying for a Home Loan

Craig Gilchrist, the Regional Manager for SA Home Loans in Mpumalanga and the East Rand, shares his perspectives on what home buyers should be looking for when shopping around for a home loan provider and home loan product. Service, service, and more service Buying a property is one of the biggest purchase decisions anyone will ever make, so applicants need to know their home loan provider is one hundred percent committed to them and the process. A home loan is a long term commitment which means a relationship with a financial lender is fairly permanent. At SA Home Loans, we want this relationship with our clients to be an AMAZING journey. Trust We understand that trust is an important component of any partnership - especially when there’s money involved! Our clients need to know we have their best interests at heart and we’re not out to make

a quick buck. Great products Along with great service, we know that home buyers need good products. Applicants need to find the best deal possible - especially when it comes to the deposit required and the interest rate on the approved deal. Good communication Our commitment to our clients includes a commitment to excellent communication. We believe applicants need to be kept abreast of the status of their application at all times. Great after sales service It can be frustrating if good service isn’t evident after the registration of the home loan, so we feel it’s as important to take care of our relationships - it’s not just about signing a client up and then leaving them high and dry. Your Rights as an Unwed Father A child “born out of wedlock” is a child whose parents were not married to each other at the time of the child’s conception or at any time during the mother’s pregnancy or after the birth of the child. How do I obtain full responsibilities and rights to my child? You acquire full parental responsibilities and rights in respect of your child if, at the time of your child’s birth, you have been living with the mother in a permanent life-partnership. You can also acquire full parental responsibilities and rights in respect of your child regardless of whether you have lived or are living with the mother of your child if you: • Consent to be identified or successfully apply to be identified as the child’s father or pay damages in terms of customary law • Contribute or have attempted in good faith to contribute to your child’s upbringing • Contribute or have attempted in good faith to contribute towards expenses in connection with the maintenance of your child for a reasonable period. If you and the child’s mother disagree about the requirements for full responsibilities and rights, you must refer the matter for mediation. Mediation is a voluntary process of structured negotiation that can help two parties in conflict to resolve their differences. Mediation is not a form of counselling. It opens up discussion and helps you work through the different legal issues that may need to be settled.

The Importance of Colour Have you noticed when you wear certain colours how they make you feel? Your selfconfidence soars as you receive comments such as “you look lovely” but not so much when they ask you if “you are tired”. Why? Colour makes a big difference and the power of colour is fascinating. There are a few colour systems available to assist us and they have varying theories to support them, although one system; The Chata Romano Colour System® is an easy and comprehensive system to apply to our overall image. Here are a few of the basic principles: • We can wear any colour we want but the tone and intensity of the colour needs to complement your skin tone. • Choose clean, clear colours to give your skin tone life and sparkle. • Hair, makeup and clothing colours are equally important. Where do you start with identifying the right colours for your image? The first step is your skin tone analysis. The Chata Romano Colour System® is based on four skin tones – Soft, Medium, Deep and Rich – one of which will apply to you. This unique system shows you which colours to embrace and which colours to avoid, allowing you to choose items to empower you and enhance your image. Each skin tone has a colour chart to guide you with the correct hair, makeup and clothing best suited for your skin tone. To find out more about how colour affects your image, contact Monica Groome (Chata Romano Image Consultant). All Personal Consultations include personal hair, makeup and clothing colour chart. Pompom Easter Chicks

Supplies: • Yellow wool • Scissors • Googly eyes • Orange pipe cleaners • Low temp glue gun

Start by making your own pompoms with yellow wool - you can find plenty of tutorials online about how to do this. Use orange pipe cleaners or felt to create feet and beaks, and glue them onto the pompoms with googly eyes to create these adorable chicks.

After cooking the eggs and letting them cool/dry, paint all of them yellow to start. Let them dry. For the details on the eggs, use black and red paint pens or markers. This is where you (and the kids) can get really creative and choose some of your favourite emojis to recreate. Variation: you can use white chocolate Source: www.blog.consumercrafts.com.
