Even though Kourtney and Adeola both attended the same university they didn’t begin dating until after graduation. Sharing several mutual friends, they would see each other inpassing from time to time, to which Kourtney admits to secretlyhaving a crush on him. It would be a seemingly random weekendwhen Kourtney’s friend, while DJ’ing in Alabama, mentioned herto Adeola and passed along her number. Soon after she received a text from Adeola, beginning a conversation that would carry them into their first date, and from there all the way to the altar.

For Kourtney, she knew from the moment they met it was meant to be, “it was almost like God specifically placed him in my life...he was everything that I never knew I needed,” she fondly recalls. Adeola, so enraptured by their conversations and a shared outlook on life, knew that he had to “make her mine.” With their love of movies in mind, Adeola began planning their perfect proposal. Renting out the entire theater, and with the assistance of her friends, he awaited her exit from the theater room into the lobby - where surrounded by family and friends, he got down on one knee and asked her to spend their lives together forever as husband and wife.

Kourtney and Adeola were joined together as wife and husband in two ceremonies over the course of a weekend. The first being their traditional Nigerian ceremony in honor of Adeola’s family, displaying rituals of the Yoruba tribe throughout. The second ceremony was their traditional Western wedding. For her dress, Kourtney fell in love with the first dress she tried on within the first store she walked into. Standing at the church altar in a custom navy blue and black suit, Adeola breathlessly awaited as Kourtney, the love of his life, illuminated the aisle in a chic, formfittingAshley & Justin gown. There, with the support of family and friends, their love was made eternal.

Memories: Kourtney - "Our first look was by far the best part of the day for me. The moment I touched Adeola’s shoulder and he turned around to see me for the first time, life changed instantly…for the better." Adeola – "The ride to the reception at the American Wedding, also the wedding party entrance was exciting, but the first dance with my wife was amazing and truly showed me what I get to experience for the rest of my life."

"My family put together the Nigerian ceremony for Friday in order to show my wife’s family and friends the importance of our culture. My mother had Nigerian attire custom made for my in-laws and all of our family and friends participated in purchasing Nigerian attire for that day. The common rituals of the Yoruba tribe, which is my father’s tribe, were displayed throughout the ceremony and it was such an amazing day for us." - Adeola

Advice for Engaged Couples: Adeola: "Destination Wedding. LOL! JK. Take it slow and make sure to live in the moment. Kourtney: Don’t sweat the small stuff. Although wedding planning can be very stressful, make sure to take a moment to remember why you guys decided to take this next step together in the first place. Things will fall together just as they should."
