Exposição concebida a partir de textos de autores que marcaram a cultura humanística-literária, em Portugal, no final do séc. XIX e início do séc. XX. Temas como o contexto social, político, cívico e cultural da época foram adaptados a arte plástica por ilustradores.

Aberto de Terça-feira a Sábado das 10h00 - 12h30 | 14h00 - 17h30 Patente até 18 de Junho de 2011 As relações das sociedades agrárias com Tavira expressaram-se, historicamente, através das formas comuns de poder e propriedade, de exploração e mercantilização de recursos naturais e agrícolas. Permaneceram, no território, marcas demográficas e de estratificação social, ocupações e abandonos, formas de urbanismo e habitação, expressões de celebração e religiosidades, representações simbólicas e artísticas que se estruturaram, desenhando "mundos sociais" distintos e complementares: as relações entre "cidade e campo".

Open from Tuesday to Saturday 10.00am - 12.30am | 2.00pm - 5.30pm On display till June 18th, 2011 The relations of agrarian societies with Tavira are expressed, historically, through the common forms of power and property, exploitation and commercialization of natural resources and agriculture. Remained, in the territory, special marks of demographic occurrences and social stratification, occupations and abandonments, forms of urbanism and housing, expressions of celebration and religiosity, symbolic and artistic representations that have been created, designing "social worlds" distinct and complementary, the relations between "town and countryside”.

Tavira dos Descobrimentos - Percurso pela zona ribeirinha da cidade, lugar central durante a Expansão Portuguesa, reconstituindo o antigo porto, alfândega e o bairro que surgiu em seu redor.

Há mais de um século atrás, os pescadores japoneses, com a intenção de recordar o resultado das pescarias, cobriam os peixes com tinta e pressionavam uma folha de papel de arroz sobre eles.

O desenvolvimento e uso da técnica, os materiais e a estética, trazidos para a América e espalhados por todo o mundo, são alguns dos aspectos abordados na conferência.

Nota: A palestra em língua inglesa com possibilidade de tradução para o português se 12

GYOTAKU: talk by RACHEL RAMIREZ Date: November 19th, at 6.00 pm Action dedicated to the origins and history of a Japanese recording technique called Gyotaku. For over a century ago, Japanese fishermen, with the intention of remembering the result of the fisheries, covered the fish with ink and pressed a sheet of rice paper over them.

The development and use of the technique, materials and aesthetics, brought to America and disseminated all over the world, are some of the issues addressed at the conference.

Note: The talk is in English with the possibility of translation into Portuguese if required.

NOITE DE NATAL, por Paulo Lages O actor, assumindo-se como leitor e animador do conto “A noite de Natal” da escritora Sophia de Mello Breyner, proporcionará ao público uma leitura encenada na qual lhe será dada a oportunidade de participar nessa mesma história, quer através dos seus comentários, quer através da representação.

Noite de Natal inclui ilustrações cénicas através da manipulação de adereços sugeridos pela história, permitindo ao público fazer um percurso idêntico ao das personagens que vão visitar o Menino.

CHRISTMAS EVE, by Paulo Lages The actor, assuming himself as reader and animator of the “Christmas Eve Tale”, from the writer Sophia de Melo Breyner, will provide the public with a staged reading at which you will be given the opportunity to participate in that story, either through your comments or through representation.

Christmas Eve includes scenic illustrations by manipulating props suggested by history, allowing the public to make a journey identical to the characters that will visit Jesus.

An activity privileging unexpected, relaxed and shared reading, involving small and big readers.

Public: General Opening time: Saturday, 4.00pm Venue: Juvenile area O BAÚ DAS LETRAS ITINERANTE… É um projecto que visa potenciar a comunicação e interacção entre alunos do concelho e os livros através de contadores de histórias, apostando no efeito motivador que estes desempenham junto das crianças e jovens.

A equipa do Baú circulará por diversos espaços educativos do concelho, levando livros e contando histórias. Poderá também convidar escritores /ilustradores de literatura infantil para protagonizar a actividade.

Nota: A escala de itinerância e contactos com os educadores ficam a cargo do espaço infantojuvenil.

ITINERANT STORY CHEST It is a project that aims to foster communication and interaction between our students and the books through storytelling, focusing on the motivational effect that they play with children and young people.

The team’s Chest will circulate by the county’s diverse educational spaces, carrying books and telling stories. They can also invite writers/ilustrators of children’s literature to lead the activity.

Note: The itinerancy scale and contact with the educators are responsibility of the juvenile area.

PROJECTO PÕE-TE A MEXER Destinado à população em geral, com idade Compreendida entre os 30 e os 54 anos. O projecto funciona em todas as freguesias (excepto Cachopo) com frequência bi-semanal onde são ministradas aulas de ginástica de manutenção e aeróbica.

PROJECTO PARA CIDADÃOS PORTADORES DE ALGUM TIPO DE DEFICIÊNCIA Desenvolvido em colaboração com a Fundação Irene Rolo, onde são ministradas actividades aquáticas e expressão físico-motora a cidadãos portadores de algum tipo de deficiência.

PROJECT FOR HANDICAPPED CITIZENS Developed in cooperation with the Irene Rolo Foundation, it involves physicalmotor and aquatic activities for handicapped citizens.

PROJECTO INFANTÁRIOS EM MOVIMENTO Este projecto, destinado a crianças com idades compreendidas entre os 3 e os 5 anos de idade, consiste na leccionação semanal de actividades de expressão psicomotora, nos infantários da rede pública e privados do concelho de Tavira.

PROJECT MOVING NURSERY SHOOL This project is aimed at the group between 3 and 5 years, and comprises the weekly teaching of psyhchomotor expression activities in the district nursery schools.
