RAYYAN INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTER PROBLEM INTRODUCTION Design of an international convention center . A proposal has been made to build an international convention center of seating capacity of approximately 4500 persons. The convention center is required to take into consideration all main and allied facilities-key facilities has been enumerated below. Along with this a service apartment(s) and a hotel has also been proposed to be built along the convention Centre. The design should consider the code provisions, along with considerations for Earthquake resistant design , Rainwater harvesting and the needs of the differently abled people.And liberty to explore the design in terms of its form, character suiting to the context, etc FACILITIES REQUIRED 1. CONVENTION CENTER (main facilities) Main hall with a seating capacity of 250012501 No.) Banquet hall to dine 1250 people (2500/2) capacity at a time Facility for open dining/ flexible space Smaller halls with 500 capacities (2 No.) with flexibility of connecting them into one. The Parametric building style is an innovative approach in Calicut. This makes the building more noticeable among all the other commercial buildings and influences the visual quality of the region. PORTABLE SHELTER FOR MIGRANT LABOURS

Migrant workers who make shelters for us, live in unhygenic structures with poor living standards. They live in camps of aluminium sheets stacked like animals without any basic facilities and are prone to all deadly diseases PROBLEM INTRODUCTION To Design a portable shelter for migrant workers with low cost materials and fully sustainable design.(group work) DESIGN A unit of 3.8m X 3.8m size with a Bio-Toilet and Kitchen which can accomodate 7 people and which can be multiplied with other units and connects to a larger working community .It can be easily assembled and easily dismantled . And fully constructed by ourself. PRINCIPLE Structure is built with sustainable green materials like bamboo, bamboo ply, tetrapack roofing sheets

Basic size of unit 3.8x3.8 No. of persons- 7 1 Bio-toilet with 2 pits Kitchen with foldable counter Bolts - can be easily fitted and re moved Aluminium sheets for fire- proofing

PROBLEM INTRODUCTION The design is developed from as per the requirements of the client .The client needed the building to be in a contemporary style as a modern architecture. The client , Mr. Saleem is an advocate and his wife, Mrs. Fousi is a school teacher. This building was their favourite project to be done . The use of the building he thought was mainly his office and consultancy. And since the location is in kavaratti , Lakshadweep islands, India , the growth of tourism increasing day by day , lead him to have an idea about an apartment cum office building. CAFE’
