Muntasir Hakim
Muntasir Hakim is a graduate student in the M.Arch program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, he is developing expertise and contributing innovatively to the field, always driven by an eagerness to create impactful ideas in collaboration. He is working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the sophomore design studio with Hugh Swiatek and as a Graphics Design Team Assistant with Francisco Javier Rodríguez-Suárez, Director, of the Illinois School of Architecture. Recipient of the Third Place in A. Richard Williams Archon Prize in Fall 2023, Honorable Mention in Graduate Excellence Award in Spring 2024 and Fall 2024. He has completed a summer internship at Lamar Johnson Collaborative in their Chicago office, where industry experts exposed him to professional work experience. He is a graduate of BRAC University's School of Architecture and Design. His architectural manifesto revolves around designing spaces that address context, empathy, and a commitment to sustainability. He advocates for design that integrates seamlessly with their surroundings and prioritize ecological balance using ethical material sources. Formerly, as a Design Associate at the Centre for Inclusive Architecture and Urbanism (Ci+AU), he contributed to projects, including BRAC Regional Offices and the Aarong 40th Anniversary Celebration Exhibition. This experience emphasized his adaptability and dedication to understanding the diversity of projects. Later at Studio Morphogenesis Ltd., he engaged in all facets of architectural practice, from design, presentation, and construction administration to team management, by working on multiple design studies, embodying a comprehensive approach. He has a wide range of completed projects by leading and co-working with consultants. As an Institute of Architects Bangladesh associate member, he upheld professional standards and continually seeks to expand his skill set.
