Fayetteville contemporary craft center, ar the Lyceum competition 2013 entry, architectural design 6 this project was designed to help further develop students’ understanding of building systems, bearing in mind the theme of the 2013 Lyceum competition: “Here and Now: a call for action” which encouraged students to find social problems and propose a creative solution. the contemporary craft center of Fayetteville was proposed to create new job opportunities for the less fortunate, it was designed to offer a learning experience in exchange of manpower needed in the construction of the crowd-funded project, the design decisions taken, and the material selection were mainly influenced by the mentioned scenario, simplifying the construction, and minimizing the energy dependency of the building.

AAVS Jordan 2013 (desert ecologies) co-de-it unit tutored by: Alessandro Zomparelli & Tommaso Casucci the project is a proposal for an observation platform on the top of mount. Rum, the project was conceived as a self-supporting structure that was located on the mountain based on a simulation that articulated the easiest, shortest hiking path possible. the optimized structure is then set to engage erosion as a natural phenomena to maintain the path, and continue altering the aesthetics of its form.

in collaboration with Adeen Gaith Hashem Joucka Mohammad Al-majed Sonia Nimri Suha Hasan Tala Fasheh

lightfab: paper sculptures supervised by Prof. Santiago Perez

paper sculptures was a design challenge that aimed at using parametric work-flows to rationalize complex geometries and fabricate them out of sheet material, the final outcomes were then to be studied in different light conditions to appreciate the interaction of form and light, while leveraging the jointing of elements in the process.

12

lightfab: the mermaid Wilson park, Fayetteville, Arkansas the mermaid is a temporary installation meant to standout as a synthetic anomaly in its natural setting. building upon previous studies of parametric fabrication, the forming of the installation was influenced by site-specific lighting conditions during certain hours of the day to maximize reflection inside the installation, hence contribute to the contrast between the installation and the poorly lit context. living hinges created on the cnc cut components using a strip heater, followed by assembling using zip ties.

Amman interior design academy architectural design 2, second year.

the concept behind the Amman interior design academy was creating an introvert void that’s concealed behind one elevation facing the street, and a circulation path that revolves around the building, with an indirect main entrance that urges the spectator passing by to explore the academy, the triangular form fits this criteria best, therefor it was used to make the three functionally-different masses that surround the court.

views from street level driving west reveal the least about the composition of the building.

in dark grey is the area of the street where only one elevation of the building is visible.
