*Working pressures are calculated at a 1:5 ratio relative to burst pressure using ASTM D1599. **Available in a reinforced construction for higher pressures. The values listed for working and burst pressures are derived from tests conducted under controlled laboratory conditions. Many factors will reduce the tubing’s ability to withstand pressures including temperature, chemical attack, stress, pulsation and the attachment to fittings. It is imperative that the user conduct tests simulating the conditions of the application prior to specifying the tubing for use.

*Working pressures are calculated at a 1:4 ratio relative to burst pressure using ASTM D1599.

NORPRENE® Industrial Grade Tubing FORMULATION A-60-G Outlasts and outperforms neoprene, EPDM and other specialty rubber tubings Features/Benefits • Superior Weathering • Abrasion Resistant • Outstanding Flexural Fatigue Resistance For extended service in a wide variety of applications, Norprene® Industrial Grade Tubing outlasts virtually all multi-service rubber tubings.

• Wide Temperature Range (-75˚F to 275˚F)

High Performance Alternative to General Purpose Rubber Tubing

• Low Gas Permeability Versus Rubber Tubing

Norprene® Industrial Grade Tubing outperforms neoprene, EPDM and other generalpurpose tubings in test after test and application after application. It will not weaken or crack after years of exposure to heat and ozone, providing long service in a wide range of applications such as gasketing, abrasion-resistant sleeving and cable insulation. Performance formulated for on-the-job reliability, Norprene® handles temperatures from -75˚F (-60˚C) to 275˚F (135˚C), allowing the use of one material with a broad range of temperatures. It is heat sealable and can be joined without fittings. It also has excellent resistance to inorganic (acids and bases) fluids.

Unequalled Life in Peristaltic Pump Applications Peristaltic pumps are used in a wide range of markets and applications. The universal requirement common to these applications is the ability of the tubing to withstand the constant high flexural fatigue exerted by the pump rollers. Norprene® outlasts and outperforms virtually all other general service tubing in peristaltic pump applications due to its high flexural fatigue strength. (For additional details on peristaltic pump tubings refer to the comprehensive Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Peristaltic Pump Tubing section at www.tygon.com.)

Ideal for Use in Vacuum Systems Norprene® Industrial Grade Tubing is available in standard vacuum sizes that will withstand a full vacuum (29.9" [759mm] of mercury) at 73˚F (23˚C). Unlike typical rubber vacuum tubing, Norprene® resists the cracking and aging that are frequent causes of vacuum tubing failure.

Available in Food Grade and Reinforced Pressure Formulations The unique properties of Norprene® tubing make it desirable for use in many food processing applications. For these applications, always specify Norprene® Food Process Tubing Formulation A-60-F. Where elevated pressure capabilities are required, Norprene® Pressure Tubing Formulation A-60-F I.B. is available to withstand up to five times the pressure of non-reinforced Norprene® tubing. (Refer to the Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics data page for additional information on these select tubing products.)

TYGON Ultra Chemical Resistant Tubing ®

Formulation 2375 (Replaces Tygon® 2075) Provides the highest degree of chemical resistance in clear, flexible tubing Features/Benefits • Improved pressure rating by 30-50% • Outstanding chemical resistance • Non-DEHP for high purity

• Plasticizer-free for low extractables Tygon® 2375 provides the highest degree of chemical resistance in clear, flexible tubing.

Unequaled Chemical Resistance

Until now, many applications for clear flexible tubing were limited due to chemical attack from the fluid being transported. Tygon® 2375 Ultra Chemical Resistant Tubing broadens the range of usability with its expanded chemical resistance. The tubing is virtually unaffected by acids, bases, ketones, salts and alcohols (see Relative Chemical Resistance Properties chart on other side).

Environmentally Friendly

Tygon® 2375 Ultra Chemical Resistant Tubing is unique when it comes to disposing. When properly incinerated, it does not release hazardous and corrosive hydrochloride gas, which contributes to acid rain.

Non-DEHP and Plasticizer Free

Tygon® 2375 Ultra Chemical Resistant Tubing is entirely free of plasticizers, eliminating fluid contamination resulting from leaching plasticizers, a common occurrence with other flexible tubing.

Longer Life

Tygon® 2375 has improved the maximum working pressure by 30-50% compared to 2075. It will not embrittle or crack prematurely due to extraction of plasticizer, thus providing a longer service life.

• Safer disposal – releases no harmful and corrosive hydrochloride gas • Smoother inner surface – provides better flow and inhibits particulate build-up • Low sorption – to minimize cross contamination

• Clear tubing for easier and better observation

• Industry compliances: FDA, EU Food Contact 2002/72/EC, NSF 51 food standards • REACh

Typical Applications • Chemical transfer systems • Transfer lines for chemical analyzers • Detergent supply lines • Battery acid filling • Ink and printing fluid dispensing • Industrial X-ray processing • Power generation sampling and drain lines • Paint and solvent production • Hazardous materials handling • Wine dispensing

TYGON® Fuel and Lubricant Tubing FORMULATION F-4040-A High performance fuel and lubricant tubing designed for today’s small engines Features/Benefits • Resists embrittlement • Compatible with most hydrocarbons • Resistant to swelling • Highly flexible, easy to install Designed for safe and efficient handling of most petroleum-based products, Tygon® Fuel and Lubricant Tubing resists embrittlement, cracking and swelling.

Designed to Resist Hydrocarbons

Specifically designed to handle most fuels and industrial lubricants, Tygon® Fuel and Lubricant Tubing resists the swelling and hardening caused by hydrocarbon-based fluids. This significantly reduces the risk of failure due to cracking and leakage. Its minimum extractability safeguards the liquid or vapor being transferred against adulteration. Because it’s extremely flexible, Tygon® Fuel and Lubricant Tubing simplifies installation, even in tight places. It is translucent yellow for positive identification and to allow easy flow monitoring. It is routinely used to handle gasoline, kerosene, heating oils, cutting compounds and glycol-based coolants.

Low Rate of Permeation

In-house testing of Tygon® Fuel and Lubricant Tubing has shown it to have a lower rate of permeation than competitive tubings. Reduced levels of permeation may limit alteration and loss of fuels critical to today’s high performance engines.

Routinely Specified in Fuel and Lubricant Applications

TYGON® LFL Long Flex Life Pump Tubing biopharmaceutical products

Long flex life pump tubing formulated specifically for use in peristaltic pump applications Features/Benefits • Longest Flex Life of Any Clear TYGON® Tubing Crystal-clear TYGON® Long Flex Life Pump Tubing optimizes peristaltic pump performance in numerous applications including bulk transfer.

• Extremely Low Particulate Spallation • Broad Chemical Resistance

Peristaltic Pump Systems Limit Risk of Fluid Contamination Peristaltic pumping offers the advantage of efficiently transporting fluids without risking contact with any portion of the pump itself. To accomplish this, flexible tubing is inserted between the pump rollers and housing. As the rollers rotate around a stationary rotor, the tubing is “squeezed,” or occluded, pushing the fluid along through the inside tubing surface. As the tubing behind each roller recovers its shape, a vacuum is created, draining additional fluid from behind the occluded tubing. During this process the fluid is contained entirely within the flexible tubing, eliminating exposure (and risk of fluid contamination) to any components of the pump.

Proper Tubing Selection Leads to Optimal Performance ®

Crystal-clear TYGON Long Flex Life Pump Tubing is formulated specifically for use in peristaltic pump applications. With its superior flex life characteristics, manufacturing processes can be simplified by reducing production downtime due to pump tubing failure. (See Comparative Peristaltic Pump Tubing Life chart on back of page.) In-house tests indicate the excellent wear properties of TYGON Long Flex Life Pump Tubing also lead to a reduction of particulate spallation. Limiting particle spallation can reduce the need for frequent downstream filter replacement. This unique feature can also reduce the risk of sensitive-fluid contamination critical to many applications found in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food and high purity chemical industries.

Numerous Benefits to Specifying TYGON Long Flex Life Tubing Non-aging characteristics and broad chemical resistance provide users with versatility for a wide variety of applications. Safe and non-toxic TYGON Long Flex Life Pump Tubing can be produced in up to a 6" inside diameter, making it the ideal choice in bulk transfer applications. Additionally, TYGON Long Flex Life Tubing will withstand virtually all commercial cleaning agents and bactericides without danger of corrosion (as with metals) or oxidation (as with rubber). TYGON Long Flex Life Tubing can also be sterilized through conventional autoclave methods (steam 30 minutes at 15 psi), making it ideal for use in high purity process applications.

• Meets USP Class VI and FDA Criteria

Typical Pump Applications • Production Filtration and Fermentation • Food and Cosmetic Processing • Flavor and Vitamin Concentrate Dispensing • Surfactant Delivery • Printing Ink Transfer • Plating Chemicals Delivery • Drum and Tank Drainage • Highly Viscous Fluid Transfer • Shear-sensitive Fluid Transfer

*Working pressures are calculated at a 1:5 ratio relative to burst pressure using ASTM D1599.

TYGON® R-3603 Laboratory and Vacuum Tubing Consistent performance for reliable analysis Features/Benefits • Outstanding chemical resistance The most consistently reliable tubing for the transfer of liquids and gases, Tygon® Laboratory Tubing handles virtually all inorganic chemicals found in today’s laboratories.

• Lot-to-lot consistency for reproducible results

Crystal clear and flexible, Tygon® Laboratory Tubing handles virtually all inorganic chemicals found in the lab. It is non-oxidizing and non-contaminating.

• Increases productivity in peristaltic pumps – outlasts other clear tubing 2 to 1

Long-lasting and crack-resistant, Tygon® Laboratory Tubing is less permeable than rubber tubing. The glassy-smooth inner bore helps prevent buildup so that cleaning is facilitated. Coils are marked at 3-foot intervals for easy measuring.

• Standard sizes available to hold full vacuum at room temperature

Provides Versatility for Today’s Laboratories

Tygon® Laboratory Tubing may be safely sterilized by coiling loosely in surgical muslin and autoclaving at 15 psi of steam for 30 minutes. Following initial sterilization, a shrinkage of 2%-4% may be noted. However, no further shrinkage should occur with subsequent sterilizations. Due to its excellent chemical resistance, Tygon® Laboratory Tubing may also be sterilized chemically or by gas (ethylene oxide). Coil tubing and wrap loosely in muslin or linen and follow the directions of your sterilization equipment manufacturer. Where aeration equipment such as vacuum and drying is required, follow the recommended times for degassing to ensure against gas retention and to reduce any residual concentration below known safety limits.

• Smooth, polished inner wall • Non-aging and non-oxidizing • Meets FDA CFR part 175.300 criteria

Typical Applications Secure Fitting Attachment Tygon® Laboratory Tubing has a Shore A Durometer of 55, which enables it to be slipped over fittings quickly and easily, and to grip securely. Its ability to bend readily to sharp radius curves speeds and simplifies laboratory set-ups. Tygon® Laboratory Tubing is specially formulated for resistance to flex-fatigue and abrasion. In many peristaltic pump applications, it will outlast its nearest competitor by at least 2 to 1. As a tubing for instrumentation connection, vent, drain, and other general laboratory applications, Tygon® Laboratory Tubing offers superior life, which minimizes the labor and expense of replacement.

Available in Vacuum Tubing Sizes Tygon® Vacuum Tubing has extra heavy walls that will withstand a full vacuum at room temperature (29.9" [759mm] of mercury at 73˚F [23˚C] and up to 27" [686 mm] of mercury at 140˚F [60˚C]). Like standard Tygon® Laboratory Tubing, Tygon® Vacuum Tubing resists most inorganic chemicals and can be used in corrosive atmospheres. Clarity allows monitoring for possible backups, which could result in equipment damage. Tygon® Vacuum Tubing will not swell closed if vacuum pump oil should happen to back into it. Tygon® Vacuum Tubing has a low vapor pressure – less than 3 x 10-2 mm Hg at 140˚F.

• General laboratory • Analytical instruments • Peristaltic and vacuum pumps • Ideal for condensers, incubators, desiccators, gas lines and drain lines

TYGON® SILVER Antimicrobial Tubing Features/Benefits Colonies formed by viable bacteria after exposure to AlphaSan® treated (left) and untreated (right) polymer.

Plasticizer-free inner bore

.D. surface can also be O formulated with a silver based compound

• • Tygon® Silver Antimicrobial Tubing decreases bacterial growth and provides added value.

Is Your Tubing Protected Against Microbes?

Microorganisms are living cells so small that most can only be seen with a microscope. Microbes are a type of microorganism found everywhere, and include bacteria, fungi and algae. The majority of microbes do not interfere with human activities. However, in some situations they can cause problems. Growth of microbes on many materials can lead to foul odors, discoloration and formation of mildew and biofilm. In the case of tubing, microbes can contaminate the material being transferred as well as degrade the tubing itself.

Leader in Antimicrobial Technology

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics is the leader in antimicrobial technology. Our custom compounding capabilities allow us to produce antimicrobial versions of many of our tubing products, including Tygon®. Tygon® Silver Antimicrobial Tubing is formulated with a silver based compound on the inner surface at the point of fluid contact; the tubing outer surface can be treated in cases where bacteria buildup on the O.D. is a concern.

Adds Value

Cleaning procedures, such as washing with detergent and hot water, can kill microbes. But this process can be time consuming and costly, and does not provide residual protection against fresh contamination. The additional use of a durable and safe antimicrobial treatment is the best way to provide protection against microbial contamination. Offering your customer this added protection adds value to your product. Tygon® Silver Antimicrobial tubing meets FDA 21 CFR, 177.1520 criteria for food contact applications.

*Working pressures are calculated at a 1:5 ratio relative to burst pressure using ASTM D1599.

The values listed for working and burst pressures are derived from tests conducted under controlled laboratory conditions. Many factors will reduce the tubing’s ability to withstand pressures, including temperature, chemical attack, stress, pulsation and the attachment to fittings. It is imperative that the user conduct tests simulating the conditions of the application prior to specifying the tubing for use. Versilic™ is a trademark.
