Born in Paris in 1968 From 1985 to 1990, he studies painting in the studio of Philippe Lejeune. His admiration for Old Masters leads him to paint many copies at the Orsay Museum and the Rijksmuseum. From 1988, he exhibits regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français where he obtains several prizes from the Institut de France. From 1991 to 1996 he studies the connections between music and painting in Munich under the Rumanian conductor Sergiu Celibidache (1912-1996): “This immersion in the musical world allowed me to consider painting beyond its figurative function,
to understand how the different components manage to “live together” without destroying the whole” These same musical concerns permeate Emmanuel Blot’s drawings. Whether a pair of shoes or a landscape, the subject is a pretext to orchestrate the subject, to distribute the light and shade, stress and highlight, develop a form.
