Château de Brissac The Château de Brissac resides just south of the city of Angers, in the Loire River Valley of France. The original castle was built in the 11th century. In the 15th century, the Duke of Brissac took ownership decided to tear down the original medieval castle and replace it with a new castle to be built in a grand Renaissance style. He renamed it Château de Brissac at this time.
Burg Frankenstein Burg Frankenstein resides quietly in the mountains near Darmstadt, Germany. Initially, artifacts dated the castle back to 1252. However, recently discovered documents in Leipzig reference Burg Frankenstein in the year 948.
Château de Chenonceau Built in the 16th century, Château de Chenonceau is the most frequently visited and romantic castle in the Loire Valley. The formal gardens and five-span bridge across the River Cher set Chenonceau apart from other castles in France.
Leeds Castle Leeds Castle is nestled in Southeast England between London and Dover. Leeds Castle has been a Norman stronghold, royal residence for six of England's medieval queens, palace for Henry VIII, and one of the loveliest castles in England.
Edinburgh Castle Edinburgh Castle exists as the most besieged castle in Britain with 23 attacks throughout Scotland's history. It’s the Scottish equivalent to the Tower of London, which houses the country’s crown jewels, served as a prison and barracks, and protected the Royal Family during times of unrest.
