THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza In a magical forest, a long way away from where you and I live, lived a beautiful unicorn called Cassiopeia.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza Cassiopeia was the Queen of the Persian Unicorns and ruled her happy and peaceful kingdom with a kind heart, like her mother before her.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza Yet, Cassiopeia was sad. She wished for a child of her own, that she could love and teach the magic and traditions of her kind.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza Cassiopeia was a magnificent Unicorn. She stood 18 hands tall and possessed a beautiful mane and white tail.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza She could often be seen at sunset on the hilltops, prancing on her 2 hind legs and galloping along with her mane flowing, making sure that all was well in the magical forest and the enchanted castle beyond.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza One misty morning, at the start of springtime, as the green shoots began to show their heads above the soil, Cassiopeia heard a sound in the clearing where she had played as a young unicorn.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza There in the sunlight sat a small white bundle of legs and hair, sparkling in the mist. Cassiopeia, nudged the little bundle gently with her muzzle, and a beautiful pair of blue eyes looked up at her.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza She looked around her, but no-one was there. ‘Could it be?’ she asked herself. Had her wishes come true?
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza There in the clearing, staring up at her, was a beautiful baby sparkle. Cassiopeia named her Speranza, meaning hope and the two became inseparable.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza Speranza grew into a beautiful young unicorn and Cassiopeia looked forward to each day and the magic that it brought.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza Cassiopeia couldn’t imagine her life without Speranza, but she was troubled by the thought of where she had come from and how she had come to be in the clearing.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza She wondered if Speranza was someone else’s daughter, someone who missed her every day as much as Cassiopeia loved her every day.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza There were no elders for Cassiopeia to consult, but there was the legend of Aerowan the Wise, the silver unicorn, who lived far beyond the forest.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza Cassiopeia decided that she and Speranza must try to find Aerowan. They travelled day and night, away from the magical forest and into the mountains beyond.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza For Speranza it was a great adventure, but Cassiopeia was afraid. Finally they found a cave in the mountains, said to be the home of Aerowan, the wisest unicorn of them all.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza Cassiopeia knelt down outside the cave with Speranza and waited. They waited for two days and two nights and finally a voice spoke to them.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza ‘Daughter of the magical forest, you have travelled far to find me. Do you not have all that you wished for?’
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza Cassiopeia replied ‘I do, but it troubles me that my daughter, who I love so much, may not be mine to keep’.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza Aerowan told tales of the unicorns of old and of how the most magical of unicorns were born of the springtime, and appeared when wished for by those with the purest hearts.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza Did Cassiopeia not know that she was born of the springtime herself and found by her mother in the very same clearing 100 years before?
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza Cassiopeia was at first surprised, but as the stars came out on their third night outside the cave of Aerowan, she knew without doubt that Speranza was her daughter.
THE LEGEND OF
Cassiopeia & Speranza Cassiopeia knew in her heart that they were both born of the springtime and that the Persian unicorns would continue to rule the magical forest for many years to come.
