Artist Bio
Murray grew up in small town Perth Ontario. Quickly growing restless in Perth he moved across the country to British Columbia. Taking an interest in scenery and the mountains he began to travel more, exploring around the west coast admiring the culture and way of life. After a few years of a nomadic lifestyle he soon realized the need and importance of education and stability and decided to move closer to home. Now Murray is focusing on art and education, currently enrolled in the Visual and Creative Arts Diploma at Haliburton School of Art + Design.
Artist statement
In my work I have been exploring form and the interactions of different shapes. Using different mediums and techniques I try to bring attention to those relationships. I experiment with found objects; whose physical elements provide a source of inspiration. My latest explorations include casting of materials such as concrete and plaster.
