It was a typical weekday afternoon, and a young Wayne Starin was sitting in a local hospital wondering how his life could have fallen apart so quickly. He was 18 and a star athlete with his whole life in front of him, but a tragic motorcycle accident left him with a broken neck and a doctor’s diagnosis that wasn’t too promising.

“My orthopedic surgeon said I’d never get my full range of motion back,” Starin said. “He said I’d have chronic pain and be on pain pills, muscle

It would have been easy to accept that fate. Instead, Starin knew there had to be another route. Through prayer and lots of research, he and his family found a chiropractor. No one — even the chiropractor — was sure if their plan would work. But it was worth a shot to simply try something different.

And he did, graduating with honors with a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa.
