Before Rick Valley and a group of his fellow restauranteurs decided to open an upscale dining place in Highland Village, the first thing they did was ask friends who live nearby where they go to get delicious food and a great experience.

“They said they went to this place or that place, but generally, they left and went to Southlake, Las Colinas, Uptown, Plano, and even Frisco,” Valley said. “I just thought that was a real shame that they felt like they had to leave their town to go get the type of experience that we ultimately wanted to give them. Our goal was to keep people close to town.”

He added, “We didn’t want them to drive 22 miles one way to find an experience that was upscale, reasonably priced, and enjoyable.”

So far, Hillside Fine Grill has been the perfect answer for a community that deserves something of their own. Not only can you get great food at

reasonable prices, but Hillside offers the ideal atmosphere for any night out — whether it be for date night, dinner with family and friends, or just an opportunity to sit at the bar for a few drinks. Hillside is locally-owned and is a welcome departure from the typical chain restaurants on every corner.

And the menu truly is to die for. If you like seafood and steaks, they’ve got the best in DFW. If you prefer a juicy burger, chicken, or pasta, there are plenty of options to satisfy your cravings. Add in a few craft drinks and a Kerrington’s Hot Fudge Sundae, and you’ll never want to eat anywhere else.

“This was meant to be a family-friendly neighborhood restaurant run by local people, and the response has been positive,” Valley said. “The menu has a little bit of everything, but beyond that, we want to make sure we are best in class when it comes to service and providing a great experience.”
