ix years on, CycleDindi continues to grow after the fields in 2021 were the best ever. CycleDindi 22 will return for a sixth time in seven years (having missed out in 2020 due to Covid) on Saturday 2 April. This ride will showcase the wonderfully scenic Great Victorian Rail Trail through the Shires of Murrindindi and Mansfield. Organised by the Rotary Clubs of Yea and Alexandra, with assistance from the Friends of the Great Victorian Rail Trail, CycleDindi 22 is a fully supported, family-friendly bicycle ride. The ride starts at either Alexandra, Merton or Yea depending on what distance the cyclist wishes to do and which starting location is easier to access. There are numerous choices of rides depending on where you start, where you ride to, and how long you wish to ride for. You choose the ride that best suits you. This year, pricing for the ride has changed just a little. All adults are now $45 and all seniors $35, regardless of the route chosen. School-age children remain just $10 with group discounts available on request. Lunch (provided) is by the Goulburn River on private property at Cathkin, and riders always enjoy this scenic and peaceful location. There will again

be a coffee van on site for you to purchase your caffeine fix and delicious hot damper to sample. Gentle gradients along much of the ride make it suitable for most ages and fitness levels. The trail is a beautiful journey, traversing rolling hills with stunning views and including a ride through the historic Cheviot Tunnel. There is fun to be had in the shearing shed, with a chance to view sheep dogs at work. This will happen at a working farm (Nutfield) right on the rail trail route and includes a delicious home-made Devonshire tea (all included in the entry price). This has been a feature of all CycleDindi rides to date and has proven to be exceptionally popular with riders. CycleDindi 22 is a major fundraiser to support a variety of youth programs in the communities of Yea, Alexandra and Mansfield. Entry forms are available at Rotary websites www.yearotary. org.au or www.rotaryalexandra.org.au and you can follow CycleDindi 22 updates on Facebook.
