The Yea Show committee is committed to producing an enormous Yea Show, on Saturday 26 November, to welcome everyone back after two years of lockdowns. There will be many new attractions along with the return of popular events. The Yea Cattle Show, including the popular Heifer Challenge and Hoof & Hook Competition, has developed into the biggest showing of prime cattle outside the Royal Melbourne Show. Judges give excellent critiques on all winning beasts, and a week after the Yea Show is the Cattleman’s Dinner where prize-winners of the Commercial Cattle Competition are announced and guest speakers talking on cattle health and pasture Improvement. The “Yea Cup” Final of the Victorian Yard & Utility Farm Dog Trials will be held at the Yea Show again, this year with excellent prize money. The six-ring horse arena is always a popular attraction for both riders and spectators. Outback Western will also be in attendance to support our horse lovers. An event not seen at the Yea Show for several years is the Wood Chop Competition, which sees top axemen from all over Victoria and Tasmania competing. The Clydesdale team, local bands, classic cars, as well as the excellent local CFA demonstrations will all be featured too, and several prominent tractor dealerships will be attending with show day specials. Children are not forgotten with entries available in all sections for them to compete as well as a pet show, decorated bike competition, schools exhibition, rides, showbags, and animal nursery. The 2019 Yea Show saw a bumper entry in the poultry section, and stewards are predicting the same high interest this year. The fleece show, goat competition and alpaca display are always popular attractions. The exquisite craft displays, fierce competition in cooking, beautiful horticultural displays and high-quality photography make the pavilion one of the most popular places to visit. Once again tractor and farm machinery dealerships will be in attendance as well as many other unique stalls and attractions. Check the website for updates and entry schedule www. yeashow.org.au.
