Whittlesea Garden Expo
The first ever Whittlesea Garden Expo will be held at the Whittlesea Showgrounds on Saturday 5 March and Sunday 6 March 2022 from 9am to 3pm. The Expo will provide an opportunity for garden suppliers, artists and growers to showcase their wares to garden enthusiasts from all over Melbourne and beyond. The Expo is being run by the Rotary Club of Whittlesea, supported by the City of Whittlesea, one of the fastest growing municipalities in Victoria.
Whittlesea Rotary is working on attracting numerous stallholders across every aspect of gardening to this inaugural Expo, providing a lively and vibrant garden marketplace, just the tonic to get out and about again. The Expo will also include numbers of presentations across both days, featuring special guests Melissa King from Channel 7’s Better Homes & Gardens on the Saturday and Clive Blazey, co-founder of the Diggers Club, on the Sunday. Melissa, who is passionate about gardening, is a popular and respected garden expert and presenter on a number of radio and television shows. Melissa is also a regular presenter at events and flower and garden festivals around Australia and overseas, including the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, Ellerslie and Chelsea. In 2007, Melissa released her first book, Garden Feast, which is an essential reference for the gourmet gardener. Clive is a big personality in the plant world, was a pioneer in the rescue of heirloom vegetable and fruit varieties, and has authored numerous books on flower, vegetable and fruit gardening. In 2019, Clive was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in Guest speakers Clive Blazey (above) and Melissa King.
