The first half of 2014 was a runaway success in most areas with high volumes of interest and transactions. Prices responded accordingly and reports from various official sources show sharp price increases in many parts of the country but especially the South East. But by June it almost seemed that there was a reality check going on and even the white-hot Central London market was seen to be cooling down. Note that I didn’t say slowing down. But there was less frenzied activity. Now, with the run up to winter and a general election year ahead, we think that the property market will stabilise. This is great news for buyers and sellers. Nobody likes being rushed into decisions and this market will give people a little more time to take stock and make well-considered decisions. There certainly seems no lack of great properties coming onto the market across all areas, as this edition of Portfolio will show. I do hope that you enjoy turning the pages and that something jumps out at you. But please remember this selection is only the tip of the iceberg. There are plenty more wonderful properties where they came from.

(1) A wired Ethernet connection, which requires cables but provides a reliable and high quality network connection. (2) A wired connection using Powerline, which can comfortably stream high-res audio (up to 24-bit) in sync to multiple rooms in the home. Powerline uses existing mains cables (creating its own wired network) so there is no disruption to your décor. (3) Wireless, which offers convenience but can reduce sound quality as music is often streamed at a much lower bit-rate to make streaming viable. It is also susceptible to buffering and dropout if your wireless network is being used for other things.
