b. The editor will appear. Enter your text, and format it as you please • Your bio is used to communicate your interests, expertise and personality to customers who are viewing online • Bio content cannot include phone numbers or email addresses c. Tips to increase your Profile Visibility • Content is king. You can't show up in Google's free search display results if Google doesn't have any material to evaluate (technically called "crawl"), so you need to fill your profile page with stuff about yourself. Good content is most productive when you write for yourself, not Google, Bing, Yahoo or any other search engine. • Be unique. Talk about how many years you've played an instrument, your music education, and the instruments you teach. Describe your teaching philosophy and style. • Don't “steal” from other lesson teacher’s content. Search engines frown upon duplicate content. We do too. Refer to the "be unique" rule. • Be geo-‐specific. Include information that is relevant to your geography: the plaza name where you teach, neighborhood name of the plaza, city name, and the local school districts. Use geography in a natural scenario like, "As a youngster, I participated in the John F. Kennedy High School Band back in La Palma, California, right down the street from the famous Yamaha Corporation headquarters…". • Running out of things to talk about? Don't forget to pat yourself on the back. If a student or parent gave you a nice compliment about your teaching, use it as a testimonial or quote on your profile page. Page 7

Don't fall for Google display tricks. Mentioning "saxophone" 20 times in your profile will not allow you to rank higher. Have a call to action. Again, keeping in line with creating content, you want to develop a compelling story that prompts a customer to call the local store and make a lesson appointment with you today. Lastly, believe in the power of linking to your new profile page (technically called "backlinks"). Once your instructor profile page is set up and live, link to it from your social media sites, personal blog or work websites.
d. When you have finished entering your profile content, click Submit. Be sure to click SUBMIT, and not just SAVE DRAFT
4. Add/Edit Quote Ø A quote is not required a. Click the Add Quote link to add a quote (once a quote is added, the link changes to Edit Quote) NOTE: Quotation marks will automatically be added to your quote. You do not need to include them.

You can enter content in any or all of the following tags: • Areas of Instruction o Please select the instruments that you were hired to teach • Musical Education • Performances • Currents Bands/Gigs • Other Languages Spoken • Current Projects • Favorite Bands • Music Interests • Favorite Instruments c.
