SOLOISTS & DIRECTOR Gretchen Parlato is featured on over 85 albums, and four as a leader, Gretchen received a GRAMMY® Award nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album, and a coveted 4.5 star review from DownBeat, for Live in NYC (2013), which also reached No.1 on the iTunes Best Music Video list. The Lost and Found (2011) received more than 30 national and international awards, including the DownBeat Jazz Critics Poll No.1 Vocal Album of 2011, and iTunes Vocal Jazz Album of the Year. Her sophomore release, In A Dream (2009), was JazzTimes Critics’ Poll Vocal Album of 2009 and hailed by Billboard as “the most alluring jazz vocal album of 2009.” It all began with her self-titled debut, Gretchen Parlato, recorded shortly after winning the 2004 Thelonious Monk International Award for Jazz Vocals. For the past decade, Sullivan Fortner has been stretching deep-rooted talents as a pianist, composer, band leader and uncompromising individualist. The GRAMMY Award-winning artist received international praise as both key player and producer for his collaborative work on The Window (Mack Avenue, 2018), alongside multi-GRAMMY winner, vocalist-composer Cecile McLorin Salvant. As a solo leader, he has released Moments Preserved (Decca, 2018) and Aria (Impulse!, 2015) to critical acclaim, and he’s only getting started. This past year, Fortner earned recognition in multiple DownBeat Critics Poll categories, winning first place in Rising Star Piano and Rising Star Jazz Artist.

SOLOIST & DIRECTOR With a voice as smooth as velvet, Samara Joy’s star seems to rise with each performance. Following her winning the 2019 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, she is currently recording her debut recording, which will feature Samara backed by the Pasquale Grasso Trio. Not yet 21 years old, Samara has already performed in many of the great jazz venues in NYC, including Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, The Blue Note, and Mezzrow, in addition to working with jazz greats such as Christian McBride, Pasquale Grasso, Jon Faddis, Kirk Lightsey, Cyrus Chestnut, and NEA Jazz Master Dr. Barry Harris. As she begins work on her debut recording (to be released in the spring of 2021), Samara Joy looks forward to sharing her passionate love for jazz as a uniting force and as a catalyst for change in the years to come. Patrick Langham is an experienced educator and performer with an 18-year career at the University of the Pacific.
