ROBBEN FORD Support comes from Tristan Mackay; One of the greatest guitarists in rock, Robben Ford is known primarily for his blues guitar, but respected for his ability to cross genres and excel in them all. Originally a member of jazzfusion band L.A. Express, he released his first solo album The Inside Story in 1976, and began touring the world under his own name in 1988 on the back of Talk To Your Daughter. Five Grammy nominations later, he has also collaborated with musicians as diverse as Miles Davis, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, George Harrison and KISS over a 44 year career of prolific touring and recording. In 2010, Robben formed his first rock band, Renegade Creation, along with Michael Landau, Jimmy Haslip and Gary Novak. They released Bullet in 2012 – a work sharing the same top-notch musicianship, energy and enthusiasm which characterises his live shows. “The idea was to not re-invent the wheel,” says Ford. “Everyone knows the blues. My concept was to put great players together with songs that have deep roots and rich emotional terrain, and to just let something beautiful happen. As it turns out, that’s exactly what occurred.”This is a seated show. The Arches, Glasgow. Enter through Argyle Street entrance. 18plus. Time 7.30pm - 10pm, Tickets £25 adv.

BRIAN KENNEDY is one of Ireland's most successful ambassadors of music. He discovered his voice when he found that he could repeat a note pitch perfect in music class in school and could harmonise along with the radio. Some years later he found himself in the enviable position of having three albums in the top 30 of the Irish album charts simultaneously. Described by Q Magazine as having 'a voice to charm the angels', it is clear that Brian will only continue to strengthen his reputation as a unique artist with a distinctive and extraordinary musical talent.
