To the best audience in the world T in the Park festival organisers DF Concerts and founding partner Tennent’s Lager have announced the news that their festival will be taking a break in 2017. The partners of 23 years released a statement, which can be read below, to music fans across the world, paying homage to their passion and dedication to T in the Park.

T in the Park full statement: “To the best audience in the world, For over 23 years, T in the Park has been at the heart of Scotland’s music scene – with you, by our side. But for now, sadly, we need to take a break. We launched T in the Park with one aim: to give Scottish music fans an unforgettable weekend with their friends enjoying the best acts from around the globe. And to say we achieved this together is an understatement. T in the Park has become one of the best known, biggest and most loved festivals in the world. When we launched back in 1994 there were only two music festivals in the UK - now there are many and T in the Park paved the way for all that have come and gone in Scotland since. We created more than just a festival; we created a family and decades of wonderful memories.

Bella Announces Franz Ferdinand As Saturday Night Headliner + KT Tunstall As Main Support Beauly, Inverness-shire :: 3-5 August 2017 :: www.tartanheartfestival.co.uk Buy tickets @ www.skiddle.com/festivals/belladrum/?sktag=12774
Glasgow rock band Franz Ferdinand is announced to headline the Saturday night of Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival (3-5 August August; Beauly, Inverness-shire) as a 2017 Scottish festival exclusive. And Scotland’s KT Tunstall will support them on Bella’s main stage.
Franz Ferdinand :: www.facebook.com/officialfranzferdinand Formed in 2002, Franz Ferdinand have won a multitude of awards including the Mercury Price, Ivor Novello and Brit and NME awards amongst others. The second of their five albums to date, ‘You Could Have It So Much Better’ charted at No 1 in the UK. KT Tunstall from St Andrews, also a Mercury Prize nominee and multiaward winner, has released five albums. “This is the first time Franz Ferdinand has played Bella and we are totally delighted to welcome them to our stage,” said promoter Joe Gibbs. “I couldn’t think of a better act to close out the festival. And we are thrilled to be welcoming KT back. She played Bella before as an unannounced special guest but we are pleased to have properly on the bill this time.”
KT Tunstall :: www.facebook.com/kttunstall
Bella patrons will need a three day ticket to see justannounced Sister Sledge headline the Garden main stage on the Thursday night. The Philadelphia sisters have charted in the UK since 1975 with hits like ‘We Are
Family’ and ‘He’s The Greatest Dancer’, working successfully with Nile Rogers and Chic. Also announced for the main stage are Glasgow’s Col Mustard & The Dijon 5. Thursday car parks and camping areas will be open from 0800 again after this year’s successful effort to encourage patrons to arrive in a steadier flow throughout the day to reduce traffic congestion. Arenas will open from 1300 on the Thursday. When buying tickets on-line with Skiddle, Bella patrons are being given an opportunity to contribute to the Archie Foundation, a charity which is helping to improve children’s hospital facilities in the Highlands. Bella sold out in record time again in 2016 for the eighth year in a row so fans are urged to buy early to avoid disappointment. Printed Bella tickets are available from our usual retail outlets. These include: Inverness – The Ironworks, Eden Court Box Office, Caffery’s and Hootananny’s; Dingwall – Sweet Treats; Edinburgh and Glasgow – TicketsScotland; Aberdeen – Aberdeen Performing Arts; Elgin – Sound & Vision; Beauly – Morrisons; Kiltarlity Post office. E-tickets are on sale via the festival website at www.tartanheartfestival.co.uk and via www.skiddle.com. Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival takes place in the beautiful Highland surroundings of Belladrum Estate, near Beauly in Invernessshire. The independent festival has built a reputation for its eclectic line-ups, its offbeat non-musical entertainments and its all-ages approach. The festival won a VisitScotland Thistle Award in 2009 and is a past winner of the Grassroots Festival Award at the UK Festival Awards, the festival industry’s ‘Oscars’.

Dundee has a new festival ...... Carnival Fifty Six @ Camperdown Dundee :: 12-13 August :: www.carnivalfiftysix.co.uk Pre-register for tickets @ www.carnivalfiftysix.co.uk/pre-register/
A new festival called 'CARNIVAL FIFTY SIX' has been announced for Dundee in August to introduce it here's a run down of plans and thoughts by the organisers ... What, Where and When: Normally this is where you would find the corporate speech written in jargon and clichés. We didn’t want to bore you with four line sentences and unnecessarily long words, so we’re going to tell you what you actually want to know.
Come rain, shine or WWIII, Carnival Fifty Six will set up camp (see what we did there) and give you the best weekend of your summer. Is it an actual carnival? Carnival Fifty Six is not the type of carnival you’re thinking of – there won’t be lots of rides, or circus tents, or clowns. Killer clowns though, who knows where the craze will be next year… You never know, there could be a collective career change to stewarding festivals. The reason we chose carnival is because the C56 Team really like the words original meaning – an annual festival involving dancing and music. And when you hear Carnival Fifty Six we want you to imagine parades, music, dancing and culture. We could say that fifty six’s origins trace back to a deep, philosophical meaning but no one likes a liar. Fifty six is the Northern coordinate of Camperdown Park. It also looks pretty damn cool in our logo.
The festival will boast a stupendous (come on, we needed at least one unnecessary word) line-up over the weekend, celebrating music, comedy and culture. Our stages and tents will So, let’s start with what I know will be your first be home to some of music’s biggest names, comedians that make you cry lol’ing, question – what is Carnival Fifty Six? and lots of local talent showcasing their brilliant Simply, we are Scotland’s newest music festival, skills. coming to Camperdown Park on the 12th and Essentially, Carnival Fifty Six is an annual 13th of August 2017. With the uncertainty of Brexit and the impending doom surrounding the festival held on the 56° North grid line in US Presidential Elections, we thought we would Dundee. give you something to look forward to in 2017.
The City’s Park: Here at C56 HQ we all have our own links to Camperdown, some of us having grown up with it as our extended back garden, while for others the park became their favourite place to walk puppers. Radio 1s Big Weekend came to Dundee just over a decade ago. 28,000 people came to Camperdown Park over the two days and it was a resounding success. However, since 2006 Dundee has been missing an event of the same attendance, grandeur and magnitude. There's a gap in the market, and we’re not only are we going to fill it, we’re going to firmly stamp our mark on the festival scene. We didn’t chose Camperdown just because we all love it or that the park worked so wonderfully for the Big Weekend. Fundamentally, Camperdown is beautiful, vast, well known and loved within the city. The 400 acres are home to gorgeous parkland, many species of trees, including the Camperdown Elm (a tree discovered in the park between 1835-1840 – who knew!?), two bears and a peacock. With its Wildlife Centre and numerous events held throughout the year, the park is an all-round favourite in Tayside. And it is the perfect setting for our festival. We are so excited for you all to join us there in August 2017.

Northumberland’s Lindisfarne Festival shortlisted for National Award as Early Bird Tickets for 2017 released Beal Farm, Northumberland :: 31 August - 3 September :: www.lindisfarnefestival.com Buy tickets @ www.lindisfarnefestival.com/index.php/2017-tickets
Lindisfarne Festival, which is held at Beal Farm overlooking Holy Island, has been shortlisted for best Grass Roots Festival at the UK Festival Awards 2016, following a phenomenal second year in September 2016. The over 18’s event which has enjoyed year on year growth of 30% in revenue and footfall are also releasing their first wave of early bird tickets for the 2017 event on Monday 28th November, the same day they will find out if they have won the coveted award. The annual UK Festival Awards, sees the cream of British festivals being recognised for hard work, vision and creativity in what has been an exceptionally challenging year for the industry. The Grass Roots Festival Award recognises the courage, commitment and often personal

sacrifice invested by their organisers, but also celebrates their dedication to retain the authenticity of their festival brand keeping them close to their original roots, supporting local communities and new music whilst maintaining an independent spirit and resisting commercial saturation. Conleth Maenpaa, Founder of Lindisfarne Festival said; “As a young, independent festival, it is an honour to be shortlisted alongside some of UK’s most established events. In just two years, we have come a long way from a concept to now being recognised as not only the number one music festival in the North East but also a wellregarded player on the UK festival scene. I won’t sugar-coat it; it’s been a hell of a tough
ride to get here. Last year was a struggle for both ourselves and the festival industry on the whole. The industry is changing, as we see many festivals unfortunately pulling the plug (eg: Wickerman, Down to the Woods) and others such as T in the Park forced to take a year or so off. We almost had no choice but to sell-out in order to push ahead but on deep reflection we feel our team, our festival-goers and our region deserves better than a corporate driven, money-hungry, festival monster. That’s not what Lindisfarne Festival is about. Lindisfarne Festival is all about creating community and providing a safe & fun place where people can get together, escape the dayto-day, and immerse themselves in new experiences and great music (across 6 stages) in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We have turned down big investment from corporates so that we can maintain our much loved grass-roots vibe and hope to continue to grow organically year-on-year, by listening and learning from our customers and getting bigger and better as we go.” Conleth added; “The first batch of early bird tickets for the 2017 event go on sale on Monday 28th November and we are encouraging people to buy early- not only to save money, but to enable us to secure the best acts and deliver the best line up possible.” Lindisfarne Festival 2017 takes place 31st August – 3rd September.
