Lindisfarne Festival 2016 receives rave reviews and a 30% increase in attendees Buy tickets @ ..... we'll bring you news of Lindisfarne 2017 as soon as we can!!

Lindisfarne Festival took place on Beal Farm, Northumberland from the 1-4 September and hosted another great event, witnessing a 30% increase in attendees and reviewers claiming the weekend to be even better than the inaugural festival in 2015. Organisers are now looking to build on this for 2017 and are calling for the region to get behind them and support them early so they can start making plans.

Overlooking Holy Island, the festival for over 18s provides a real celebration of music and the arts, with fun, togetherness and nature being at the core of the event’s identity. With an eclectic range of acts taking to the stage from Reef, Fatherson, The Cuban Brothers and Beardyman, there really was something for everyone. A strong, local flavour also remained at the heart of the festival with acts such as Shields and the Baghdaddies performing alongside up and coming regional talent showcased on the BBC Introducing Stage. Conleth Maenpaa, Owner of Nokomis and Bor Events and Founder of Lindisfarne Festival commented: “We are completely overwhelmed by the support we have had for Lindisfarne Festival 2016 and the positive reviews we have been receiving, have been amazing. It’s great to see that we are witnessing a steady growth year on year in terms of turnover and attendees and that people are behind us. The North East and Northumberland have really taken us to their heart and it means a lot as we work hard each year to improve and build on the festival. Our aim is to do everything in our power to bring the festival back next year for 2017, taking it to the next level, whilst still retaining

its intimacy, vibe, sense of community and togetherness. As an independent company, we do urge people to get behind us early so that we can make the necessary plans and deliver the best event we possibly can. We were shortlisted for Best New Festival at the UK Festival Awards last year so fingers crossed we can enter those again and bring back the silverware for the region. You never know, we may even submit a cheeky vote for Best Loos! Overall we are very excited with what we have achieved over the last couple of years and look forward to the future. We want to thank everyone who got behind us for their support including all the volunteers, staff, media and festival goers; it means a lot. Oh and to any investors or business partners out there that fancy giving me a call? … feel free to drop me a line!”

Ullapool Guitar Festival Ullapool 7-9 October So why is the UGF so special? Perhaps it’s the mix of music old and new, of electric and acoustic, of steel and nylon, of seasoned performers and those, like the students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, just starting out on their careers. Perhaps it’s the location on Loch Broom and the drive up through some of Scotland’s most spectacular scenery. Perhaps it’s the informal air of the whole weekend: there’s no “us and them”, no VIP area. Everyone mingles, and you’re likely to find yourself sitting beside a guitar legend in the Festival Club – or even jamming with them on one of the trade stands. www.ullapoolguitarfestival.com
