Managed by the Scottish Music Centre; the project provides young musicians living in Scotland, between the ages of 14-19 years old, the opportunity to learn about the live industry before embarking on a professionally managed tour. Hit The Road aims to equip young artists with the knowledge, contacts and tools to work within the live industry and is funded by Creative Scotland’s Youth Music Initiative (YMI) and PRS for Music Foundation. Blas Festival

The Edinburgh Mela is Scotland's biggest and best celebration of world music and dance. The Mela seeks to embrace all its diverse communities and cultures, providing a showcase and development opportunities for artists from within those groups, working alongside artists of national and international stature.

Highlands 2-10 September The Blas festival aims to play a role in celebrating the culture of traditional music and Gaelic in the Highlands of Scotland. Blas will do this in part by creating the opportunities for young musicians to play and learn with leading artists in traditional music and Gaelic. Blas will also widen the opportunities for communities to experience and enjoy live music and Gaelic performances which support their culture.

Inveraray 10-11 September Best of the West Festival an 'end of season' showcase held annually in the grounds of Inveraray Castle in Argyll. This family weekend includes two days of music and song with performances in both English and Gaelic. The festival has a strong focus on local young talent as well as the best of the established performers.
