A gala two hour live show with music and comedy to raise funds for Medical Aid for Palestine. The benefit night has been put together by Edinburgh based collective ‘Artists for Gaza’ who have a common concern for the plight of Palestinians particularly during periods of heightened conflict. This one off concert is taking place to raise money in aid of Medical Aid For Palestinians (MAP). MAP is a British based charity that delivers health and medical care to those worse affected by conflict, occupation. MAP was the first UK aid agency to respond to the attacks in Gaza. To date they have delivered more medical supplies to the hospitals in Gaza than any other organisation. Also comedy from Frankie Boyle, Elaine C Smith and Shappi Khorsandi. Trad on the Tyne Haddington 29-31 August The outstanding Karine Polwart and Blazin’ Fiddles will be topping the bill at this year’s Trad on the Tyne festival in Haddington. Other headline acts will include the Friel Sisters, the Victorian Trout Conspiracy, and local singer/songwriter Alex Hodgson, while the programme will again feature massed pipes and drums, Open Stage, workshops, come-and-try classes, storytelling, pub sessions, and a wide range of family entertainment.
