Anamanaguchi was born past cynicism & indifference; they’re in love with the universe and aim to celebrate magic-made-real with their music. The band is interested in breathing life into low-tech machines and making expressive, emotional melodies using the simplest, rawest electronic tones available. Anamanaguchi is what the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would’ve been if they were a boy band. 10 FEBRUARY ROSS AINSLIE AND JARLATH HENDERSON; Two of the most major talents in contemporary Celtic piping, Scotland's Ross Ainslie and Tyrone-born Jarlath Henderson. Individually they're two of the best players around but collectively they create a chemistry which is almost magic. They are not only vastly talented but have created a sound that is bursting with emotion and energy - a fusion of pipes and flutes which pushes the boundaries of what the instruments can achieve in a performance which is a vibrant mix of new and original compositions along with traditional tunes. Two of the most major talents in contemporary Celtic piping, Scotland's Ross Ainslie and Tyrone-born Jarlath Henderson first met back in 2003 at the William Kennedy Piping Festival in Armagh. After taking their time to hone and perfect their unique partnership of Scottish bagpipes and Irish uilleann pipes, each also playing a variety of whistles, the pair exploded onto the scene with 2009's stunning debut album, Partners in Crime. Taking a couple of years off, Radio 2 Musician of the Year Award nominee Ross performed with Salsa Celtica, The Treacherous Orchestra and Dougie Maclean whilst Jarlath became a doctor. Niel Gow Scottish Fiddle Festival Dunkeld & Birnam 21-23 March The 2014 Niel Gow Festival will be held in the beautiful Perthshire village of Dunkeld & Birnam, home of Niel Gow. The annual festival was established in 2004 to celebrate the life and music of Perthshire's fiddle legend. It is envisaged that through time the festival and other activities will gather enough funds to erect a fitting memorial to Niel Gow in Dunkeld & Birnam. Niel Gow (not Neil Gow) was born in Strathbraan on 22nd March 1727 and grew up in the village of Inver, by Dunkeld. www.niel-gow.co.uk

Northern Nashville Country Music Festival Caithness 18-20 April In 2004 we took a gamble and ran our first ever Northern Nashville Caithness Country Music Festival (NNCCMF), which thankfully was a great success. Over the years it has gone from strength to strength, with country music fans converging on Caithness over Easter Weekend to be part of this 3-day 5-show extravaganza of live country music.
