Others use Figurenotes notation, which Drake Music Scotland has introduced to help them learn to read music and play melodies, solos and harmony parts on keyboards, guitar and bass just like their non-disabled peers. Edinburgh promoting Faults - a collaborative album between Iceland and Scotland - Benni and Pete met in 2007 at one of the first SHMB performances. Pete, Ross, Rich and Fraser from SHMB started playing in Benni’s band. At the same time Pete and Benni recorded some songs together as a collaboration between the Second Hand Marching Band and Benni Hemm Hemm. Nine songs have been produced in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fife, Cumbernauld and Reykjavik. A long project stretching over seven year, 800 miles, sixteen instruments and eight singer. The album is a totally self-funded, DIY, selfrecorded, self-produced, self-assembled production. Young at Heart Festival Lanarkshire 10-19 March Aimed at older adults, South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture's Young at Heart festival aims to celebrate the arts as engaging and accessible for all. Niel Gow Scottish Fiddle Festival Dunkeld & Birnam 18-20 March The 2016 Niel Gow Festival will be held in the beautiful Perthshire village of Dunkeld & Birnam, home of Niel Gow. The annual festival was established in 2004 to celebrate the life and music of Perthshire's fiddle legend. It is envisaged that through time the festival and other activities will gather enough funds to erect a fitting memorial to Niel Gow in Dunkeld & Birnam. Niel Gow (not Neil Gow) was born in Strathbraan on 22nd March 1727 and grew up in the village of Inver, by Dunkeld. www.niel-gow.co.uk
