SANGITA for violoncello and electronics was composed in 2019

Sangita is a part from my Cello Concerto which was composed in commission of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, on the occasion of the Cello Biënnale Amsterdam, performed on cello by Jean-Guihen Queyras

The Sanskrit word Sangita refers to music and performance arts in the Indian traditions

This composition contains 9 episodes, presenting various “rasas” or states of mind, inspired by the Sangita Ratnakara texts of Carngadeva

In the memory of the sarangi Maestro Dhruba Ghosh

SANGITA contains 9 episodes:

1 - Amazed

2 - Anxious

3 - Sad

4 - Humoristic

5 - Angry

6 - Erotic

7 - Divine

8 - Glorious

9 - Peaceful

Performing separate movements independently is possible

Duration: ca. 15 - 17 minutes
