Delaying the Aqeeqah until after the seventh day is at variance to the Sunnah Q. The Aqeeqah was performed after the death of the baby girl who had died at the age of one and a half years. Was the Aqeeqah performed, as it should be or not? Will this child benefit its parents in the next world? Please enlighten us in this matter. A. Yes, the Aqeeqah suffices but to delay it until after the seventh day following the birth opposes the Sunnah. Allaah will reward believing parents who have patience at the death of their baby boy or girl and cause the child to be of benefit to them in the next world.
