Thursday evenings are the best time to stroll along downtown as the streets buzz with electric ambiance and fill the air with the scent of delectable treats. The Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market is the city’s weekly gathering for all sorts of produce, artisanal goods, food and drink and live entertainment.

With more than 100 vendors set up across several downtown city blocks, the Farmers’ Market is not something to miss. The market is a relaxing way to unwind from the week and get outside with other members of the SLO community. This evening activity can also lead into the night if you choose to stay for dinner or visit some of the downtown bars.

The vendors consistently feature new items depending on the season, so there are goods for any occasion. Not only are there booths with products for sale, but local organizations will also often be present to share information about their missions and values.

As you roam the market, you can also find several artists and performers showing off their skills. Almost every corner gathers a crowd to watch a local band sing their newest tune or admire the competitive cheer team perform their greatest stunt. No matter who performs, entertainment will be found at the Farmers’ Market.

Since Farmers’ Market evenings are fun with friends and family, crowds accumulate quickly. Be sure to arrive early for parking if you decide to drive. It is also easily accessible by walking, biking, or bussing.

Opening at 6 p.m. every Thursday all year long, the SLO Farmers’ Market spans five blocks of Higuera Street between Osos Street and Nipomo Street.
