Muzeum umění Olomouc

The Olomouc Museum of Art (the former Gallery of Fine Art) was established in 1952 as part of the Regional Museum in Olomouc. After 1989, the museum acquired its own building in the city centre. Today, it is one of the most influential institutions of its kind in the Czech Republic, considering the number of collection items (approx. 200 000), the second after the National Gallery in Prague, but also in the range of its professional activities and exhibition programme. With its short-term, medium-term and long-term exhibitions it presents fine arts culture from the early history up to the present in three locations: Olomouc Archdiocesan Museum, Museum of Modern Art, Kroměříž Archdiocesan Museum.
