FAMOUS PEOPLE:
Asturias is a province on the northern coast of Spain, facing the Cantabrian sea. The capital is Oviedo and the largest city is Gijón. Other towns include Mieres, Langreo, Siero… Asturias is bordered on the east by Cantabria, on the south by Castilla y León, and on the west by Galicia (Lugo).
There are some mountains like the Cantabrian Mountains, The Picos de Europa and other natural parks like Parque natural de Redes and Somiedo. There are many beaches too.

Villa: His nickname is “El guaje.” He’s a footballer and he plays for Valencia but he started on Sporting. Paula Echevarría: She’s an Asturian model and actress. She was born in Candás. She worked in the TV series Comisario. She’s married to David Bustamante. Pedro Civera: He’s a Spanish actor. He was born in Mieres. He works in the theatre.
FOOD: The typical food in Asturias is ¨fabada asturiana.¨ The most famous drink is Asturian cider. It’s poured in a particular way called “el escanciado.”
ACTIVITIES: In Asturias you can go and do a lot of activities. There are many shopping centres like Calatrava, Parque Principado, and Caudalia. There are also many restaurants and cinemas. Some people go to the park to skate-board, cycle, skate, or play football but others go by the river to walk.
Sporting: It’s a Spanish football club from Gijon. They play in the Spanish first division. The name of the stadium is Molinón.
THINGS ABOUT MY SCHOOL: My school is called IES Sánches Lastra. There is a library, 2 gyms, an auditorium, a playground, a cantine and a lot of classrooms. There are a lot of teachers and students from different countries between 12 to 18 years old. We have 6 lessons per day of 55 minutes each. We start at 8:20 and we finish at 14:10.
