ABItalia is the brainchild of a group of Italian citizens of Second Life to create union, closeness and proximity between the Italian people who live Second Life and you want to know and recognize in a community. This Italian Laboratory is taking its first steps to try out new forms of living the Italian Second Life and, as in any laboratory, evolution is continuous LABitalia has chosen as a method of group work, whose members identify with the values of EQUALITY, TRANSPARENCY, COMMON LANGUAGE, FREEDOM OF THOUGHT, WORD, OPINION, EQUAL DIGNITY ', FUN COMMUNICATION.
26 | VSN - Issue 48 - April 2016
LABitalia are run by group of people who initiated the project and work for free, voluntarily and in a spirit of service with the aim to design and build a space / container that collects the contributions of the Italian Second Life without distinction he foreclosures, providing moments of information , formation and aggregation. The project costs are self-financed and therefore the services offered by LABitalia are not paid. LABitalia has just started and is constantly growing and evolving. This project is, in fact, a laboratory in which to experiment and try new ways and new methods to recognize in the Italian community of Second Ife. A nationwide census work, with the collaboration of those who provided us with information, allowed to create a directory of the Italian Second Life, to what has been built over the years and what the offer of the Italian. A database, where they are penciled land, initiatives, disk jockeys, musicians, artists, trainers, is available to everyone, owners and citizens in order to facilitate the matching of supply and demand. Please notify us land or artists not yet listed.
28 | VSN - Issue 48 - April 2016
LABItalia is the trait of union between owners, artists and citizens to inform, intrigue or just give space and place to meet and build relationships. In the land of LABitalia, as well as on the website, you will find lots of information, divided into themes that give space and visibility to anyone, owner, artists and ordinary citizens without exception and regardless of the type of land or offer. entertainment events organized by the Italian land, concerts, musical evenings, disk jockey etc etc will be penciled on special panels. In the same way information will be listed also individual artists, photographers, publishers that offer exhibitions, theater, literary evenings, design and all that is art, design and culture. LABitalia is particularly attentive to new citizens and offers hospitality in land and basic tutoring through moments of training on the first steps (customize avatars, etc). In the land newbe will find practical information on the first steps in Second Life In the land are also available to some "bundles" that include information on historic land or particularly beautiful.
30 | VSN - Issue 48 - April 2016
LABitalia in order to provide full information and to 360 degrees in addition to the land in the world, has created a website (link) where you can find the same information collected on land. Additionally the activity also takes place via two Facebook groups, one public and open to all whose purpose is obviously to inform and another private group, available to anyone who offers events and used to report events that will be reported and disseminated from LABitalia . Many people, owners, artists or simple residents, have endorsed this project, we hope to have created something different that will be useful to all.

aiku is a Japanese poem where you can words and allegories that recall deep feelings in those who read poetry, the same is Spring: with its colors, its scents we can breath a poems all around us. Mention Spring in most people think of cherry blossom but it's not only that. Spring is something better, it's when all earth reborn, all nature breathe again and start a huge cycle that gives us life and color. Very often we are too busy thinking about our problems, to work and we forget to look out the window to admire this show (or this green poetry), continuing to live without being able to make a communion with what surrounds us. It is not a sin but in the end what can we really say to admire? Or to find out?

am Goldwyn of MGM once said, “Give me a year and I will make her an overnight success.” Like many “overnight” successes, Blueberryxx’s rise to the upper echelons of fashion designers in Second Life® took a few years of hard work, perseverance and dedication. She has been in SL® for seven years and spent her time learning the ropes, studying tutorials and perfecting her craft. VSN Magazine decided to check in on her “overnight” success with this interview: VSN Magazine: When did you join Second Life and what inspired you to join? How long did it take to learn the ropes and get comfortable? What made you stay? Any funny stories? Blueberryxx: I found out about Second Life seven years ago, when I was in college. It took me a lot less than it normally would to find the ropes, because I had help from someone who was already designing in Second Life. I think once you discover Second Life, it's so hard to not want to stay. Everything is usercreated, imagination is the limit. My mind was blown! The funniest thing that first comes to my mind is, randomly coming across a Linden playing the inchworm animation (most of you will know this animation by name, but if you don't it is an animation that makes you 52 | VSN - Issue 48 - April 2016
54 | VSN - Issue 48 - April 2016
look like a worm trying to inch forward), stuck or lagged out at the sim edge. I wish Gyazo existed then. VSN: What was the first thing you made? Does it still exist? Blue: The first thing I have ever made was a tattered top and unfortunately it no longer exists. VSN: One thing that sets your work apart is the draping, the naturalistic wrinkles? How do you achieve so much naturalism in your work? Blue: Thank you so much! It makes me so happy to hear such positive feedback. I always feel like there is a lot of room to improve. I believe that's how most of my fellow designers feel too. There have been many, many designs that went straight to trash bin, sometimes you can start creating a design with so much hype and they can end up looking like a crime against pixels! I believe the great constructive feedback from my customers is what shaped what my designs have become. When I post a work in progress teaser image, I can usually tell if my customer base is feeling the design or not.
VSN: You also do great shoulders and sleeves. How have you conquered that difficulty? Blue: The sleeves and shoulders - I have to give credit to Kitsune Shan who works on the rigging process for my creations. He perfected it. I feel very blessed to have been working with him for over 2 years now. VSN: And the derriere. I think people have written poems about your butts. Any comment on your skills as a butt maven? Blue: The butt, hahaha! The first thing that comes to my mind is the facebook video of the men dancing with the yoga pants. I will never forget that. I had attempted a few different butt shapes before I made the yoga pants and it again comes down to the customer feedback that lead to the yoga butt shape. I'm so thrilled that it has become sort of a signature for my brand. VSN: Do you have a few tips for people who want to start creating? A few favorite tutorials or programs? Blue: The “Create Mesh tutorials created by Leviathan Flux are a great way to start learning mesh for Second Life in Maya. But, I have
56 | VSN - Issue 48 - April 2016
58 | VSN - Issue 48 - April 2016
to say one on one lessons were key for me, personally. I highly recommend Zbrush for clothing detailing. VSN: Where do you find inspiration for your designs? Do your SL fashions reflect your RL aesthetic? Blue: I find inspiration in everything. I could be out with a loved one and see a shirt worn in a specific way that strikes me. I could be browsing the internet and see a skirt style that would look so lovely on a curvy mesh body. It really is a love at first sight thing, I guess. As far as how I dress in real life compared to Second Life... I'm definitely not brave enough to wear some of my own designs! But I do find beauty in comfort and sometimes that reflects to my Second Life designs too. VSN: How has SL affected your RL? Blue: Second Life has changed my perspection on so many levels. It is my creative outlet, my constant reminder to improve. I have become familiar with many different cultures, widened my ability to connect. I have met people who are now a huge part of my real life. Second Life brought freedom to my life in more ways than I can express.
60 | VSN - Issue 48 - April 2016
VSN: What do you like to do in your free time in SL? Do you have favorite places you like to visit? Blue: I love to listen to live music with my friends. My current obsession is Blithe. VSN: What is your favorite memory in SL? Blue: My favorite memory by far is right before Christmas 2015. I had booked the beautiful and talented Asia Rae for a photoshoot with my two best friends, Sukoshitosuto and Sophia Harlow. I intended to create a real photobook with the Christmas themed photos and ship it to them. We ended up in a pose, that just is still the funniest thing for me to look at. The end result turned out so beautiful though. Before: https://gyazo.com/2b7928f9bc2a8 bd6b0cf6cad6db12623 End result: https://www.flickr.com/photos/ asia_rae/23323364252/in/dateposted/ VSN: What would you change about SL if you could? Blue: I’d add spam protection features to the groups.
VSN: What would you like to see Blueberry do in the future? Blue: I am looking forward to creating VR experiences alongside with the clothing assets. VSN: What question do you wish we had asked? Blue: Not sure if I wish you had asked them, but here are some random things. I like to watch random South Park videos. I love spamming my friends on Skype with funny links, I love tagging Sukoshitosuto on every Facebook video, ever. I have a puppy called Minnie and she rules my heart. I love chatting with my group, they are some of the best people I have met, shout out to every one of them! I strongly believe there is a Youtube video for every situation and it’s my duty to share them. I have a rule to donate to my choice of charity if I ever upset someone, I believe it balances my karma.
